I use an Air alongside my Trifold just like I used to with my Fold 7. I have them set up almost identically and communicate the same on both since I use Google Voice for my phone needs. It doesn't matter if I forget one or the other, or if I'm just in the mood for slim and light vs bigger and richer or vice-versa.
After reading about Samsung canceling orders and lost/stolen packages mine finally arrived via FedEx today. I'm still in shock I was able to get one from the very last batch before Samsung announced they were completely sold out. What an amazing device! Congrats to everyone who managed to get one. My favorite way to handle it is in portrait mode. Pretty awesome and comes with a back case. Now have to see how to protect the front. What are some good options?
This just started happening recently, all of a sudden my Reddit app will not fill the whole screen and there are huge black margins on the side. This happens both in landscape and portrait mode. It used to stretch out to fit the whole screen until some update.
Does anyone know if there are settings I can change to fix this?
Let's say I bought a z tri fold on eBay. How would one even insure the z trifold since it's discontinued? I mean insurance companies can't replace the phone if it's stolen or broken.
I had the phone lisyed under the mobile device protect and got a text message today saying the plan changed and now my trifold is not compatible with mobile device protect. Any suggestions on what to do now? I don't like being without insurance for the device.
Man, I love this phone! The surprising thing I'm finding is how often I'm using it in portriat mode, almost like reading a piece of paper. Just curious if more people are using it in landscape or portriat?
I love having it on portriat and playing a game on the bottom while I'm watching a game, or have reddit opened above it. Then I'll throw geforce now on landscape for a way more immersive experience when I'm watching TV. The versatility is probably my favorite thing about it.
I've basically been agonizing over whether or not to make this purchase since January. Bought a fold 7 the other day for a great deal online as a compromise upgrade from my fold 6, and then I was like, I need to at least try the trifold. I need to put this to rest, so I bought one off Samsung.com thru affirm.
It is definitely game changing. Basically holding the z fold / Galaxy Tab S11 I've always wanted. Am I going to keep it? I'm not sure yet. But this thing is cool.
Horizontal view, all apps show and are in-place. Vertical, they all dissapear and is misaligned. I have to constantly reapply everything manually everyday. Home UP/DIY is super finicky. Anyone else dealing with this?

Received my trifold 4-15-2026
I wanted one and had over 1/2 hour to decide on launch day but warranty and no trade in stopped me..(I should have just went for it).
As time went on and reviews came in, I knew i needed one (more than a want).
So when samsung said 4-10 availability i knew i needed to start refreshing the day before, just in case, and at 10:01 bam I can add it to my cart and check out fast.
The un-boxing was great, with a wall charger and case. Even though i went with a better case.
What I don't read about is how samsung changed the hinge on the trifold .
Yes they changed it, you can feel it and see it...
On fold 6 and 7 the screen dips in the crease, on the trifold their is a piece behind the screen that gives the screen a 90% crease free feel.
What trifold's don't have is the samsung store option when trying to change the lock screen picture or widgets, anyone else notice this ? Their no Samsung store option like on fold 7.
At first I could not feel much of a weight difference between fold 7 and trifold, then after a while i felt a difference but not bad at all. After using the trifold for 3 days now, I love the weight as it reminds me to hang on tight to it.
Sold my fold 7 today.
I saw no difference in screen brightness from fold 7 to trifold.
Everything I do on this trifold is just gamechanging.... I no longer want anything else.
I love this phone... I hope samsung releases updates for it ..
Most apps work great, some need work with the inner huge screen that I believe will all be fixed with UI9. In the meantime.. I'm loving this phone ......
Now it's just the contemplating on the sunbright warranty
2 years at 300 or 4 at 500 or just go with a year at 142....... or none at all as all the phone extended warranties I ever had, we're never used ........by me.
Not missing a beat with the Tri Fold whether in the hotel room or bullet train. My work carry got a lot lighter ironically with my Tri Fold
TL/DR: Expensive, stand is not perfect, and it adds some weight, but I've tried three different case solutions and watched tons of videos. This is the best, most overall protective case you can currently buy for the TriFold. Get it.
My Berfy case arrived today when I got home from work and I quickly put it on and have been using it for a few hours now, so I thought I'd share my impressions. After dropping my TriFold on the front screen over the past weekend and shattering the front screen protector on the cheap ass plastic front case I was using (the phone itself was not damaged so score one for sturdy design, Samsung) I've been going caseless on the front while I waited for this Berfy to ship, and I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally have some solid protection again.
Price: Even with the recent price drop, it is still way too expensive. 127 USD (down from 147 a couple weeks ago) is just too much for a case that's not offering military grade protection like Otterbox or something.
Left Hinge Cover: The front screen protector has a little flap that covers the smaller left hinge for drop protection, which is inherently good, but when unfolding the phone, that little flap scrapes or slides against the hinge causing an uncomfortable feel almost like over time it could scratch or damage the hinge.
Weight: The case adds a little thickness and weight to an already heavy device. You have to decide if that trade-off is worth it to you in order to have the best shock and drop protection currently available for this 3 thousand dollar phone.
Stand: Unfolded in portrait, the integrated kickstand is not at all acceptable. The device stands at a 90 degree angle and a slight breeze would blow it right over on its front screen to potential disaster. You can see in the attached photos I have a magsafe adjustable kickstand attached to the back which works perfectly for portrait mode. Unfortunately if you plan to use the phone in portrait mode propped up with just the Berfy kickstand you can forget it completely.
Stand: Unfolded in landscape, however, the integrated Berfy kickstand works better than any other kickstand solution I've seen or tried. It is solid, steady, and sturdy, with no chance of falling forward or back. Perfect for media consumption which I use the TriFold for more than anything else.
No wobble: With every other case I've had on the back, and for the few times I've had the phone caseless, the protruding camera bump makes the the phone wobble terribly when placed on a flat surface on the back. This problem is almost completely ameliorated by this case. Practically zero wobble when put on its back side. Massive improvement.
Magsafe: The back case has integrated magnets for compatibility with all magsafe devices. A little weird that the magnet doesn't feel quite as strong as the magsafe sticker that came with the Aulumu kickstand I'm using, but if you are into magsafe accessories, Berfy has you covered.
Solid feel and protection: For obvious reasons I am not going to field test this case for drop protection and shock absorption, but I've had this TriFold for more than a month and a half and I haven't felt more safe and secure the whole time since getting this case. Front screen protection, double hinge protection, top and bottom edges protected, camera protected, all the boxes are checked here. It's like a weight has been lifted, honestly, to be able to have this in the pocket of my pants next to my keys and not worrying about scratches and scrapes, not to mention dropping out of my jacket pocket and taking nasty fall on the concrete sidewalk. Also the surfaces and sides of the case have a nice smooth premium feel to them. I really like the way it feels in my hands with the case on.
I think if you still have the funds after shelling out over 3k for this phone, in the vast ocean of inferior, cheap, practically worthless case solutions for this device, you'd be very smart to pay more for this case which I feel is the best money can buy.
My first tri fold had a ton of hinge play but I was able to get a replacment, now this new one has the smallest bit of hinge play. I've had tons of foldables going all the way back to the second gen z fold, and only the gen 3 had hinge play before the tri fold. Is this something they all have? And will it get worse.
