Key Fob

Had my Explorer EV just under a year and already the battery in both key fobs are almost dead.

As a lease car the lease company say they will replace but it just seems very odd to be low already.

When I take it into Ford to get the battery replaced I will mention to them that the key fob always flashes red, does anyone know if this is a common issue or do I have a problem.

Got my new company car delivered today. It has the Drivers Assistance pack and the heat pump as options added too.

This replaced my 2023 Polestar 2 Standard Range single motor.

First things I’ve noticed.

  1. It is much softer in terms of ride quality, this is good as the polestar was a bit stiff sometimes. It does pitch a lot when you press the accelerator which is interesting.

  2. Range is a massive improvement as the polestar from a full charge was struggling to get 200 miles. This was delivered with 17% and had 60 miles showing and I’ve charged it to 40% and it was showing about 130 so would work out about 360 from a full charge.

  3. The haptic buttons are not nearly as annoying as journalists make out.

  4. Space inside is excellent. We have a 9 month old baby with one of those huge 360 car seats. The polestar was a longer car but the cabin space was limited. The Explorer is much bigger which is ideal so fitting the car seat is easy.

  5. Technology is as good if not better than the polestar. The HUD is great and the responsiveness of the screen is much better. Although Polestar is known for having a poor operating system. I do think I’ll miss the maps being shown in the drivers display but I’m sure I’ll adapt to it.

  6. Seats don’t feel as initially comfortable but I’m sure once I find the correct driving position it will be fine. The massage seats is a cool addition, although I’ll probably never use it.

  7. Cup holders…. For anyone that didn’t know the Polestar 2 has 1 cup holder and 1 under the arm rest. This doesn’t seem annoying at first but when you’ve got 2 coffees on the way home from the hospital with you 1 day old baby and need somewhere to put them but the armrest is in the way it’s annoying 😂 Well the Explorer has 2 and they are very easily accessed which is ideal!

Overall I’m very happy with the Explorer. It seems so far like a good choice and a good family car.

If anyone has any questions ask away!
