Dave’s gummy smile

Dave’s smile dramatically changed around ‘99. Do we reckon he had surgery or did he train himself to smile differently?

Any chance that more US dates will be added to the tour?

My son (11) really got into FF, but none of the venues so far are anywhere near where we live (Boston). ☹️

Unpopular opinion: Pain, hardship and trauma creates the best art, and the best albums.

It's obvious to me, that But Here We Are is a much much better album than Your Favourite Toy, and much to do with the pain and trauma that Dave and the band were going through during 2021-2023ish with especially the loss of Taylor and his mom etc.

As tragic as that is, it really brings out the creativity, the sadness, the somber and the melacolic, which in turns creates amazing music. Part of what made Nirvana great, was also Kurts inner demons and turmoil brewing, creating some of the best songs ever written.

You can disagree, and that's fine. But to me, the early days of the foos is the best, because Dave had alot of shit going on in his life, before he become the "good guy" safe rock-dad multi-millionaire lifestyle, that he sort of kind of became abit used to and frankly, made more boring music as a result.

They sound awesome. I gotta say I am loving the 4-part harmony era

Now that we've all had a few listens, how are we ranking the tracks on YFT?

This is my crack at it, I find it really hard to rank 4-6, really the only song I dislike is Spit Shine and that's not even that bad.

Listening to the new album on headphones completely changed my opinion of it.

Wasn't a fan at all of the new album. Stood there in disbelief at Dave's vocals on some of the songs. Now i don't have top of the line speakers but there not shit either. Every other foos album sounds great on them. Thought i'd give the another chance as i walked to the shops and shocked how much it changed everything. Really enjoyed the album now and thinking i might have to go back and give the concrete and gold and medicine at midnight another chance. Having said that foos aren't a headphones band, there a crank the stereo and blow the fucking roof off your house band.

Finally Back!

Just scanned the new one, and Dave has FINALLY released an album that resonates with me, for the first time in like two decades. Buying this on vinyl right now so I can take it for a proper spin. THANK YOU! ✌️🫶🤟

Missing song in the new album?

I listened to their new album and actually thought it was pretty solid but I couldn’t help but notice they never added one of the songs they teased at the end of that ai generated video where the lyrics seem to say “break me out… make no change” and I really liked it but it never showed up in the album and I thought that was weird.

What's you favorite song off the new album?

I like them all but I would have to say window, gives me headwires vibes! What's yours?

Dave Grohl backstage with Murderdolls

Dave was a big fan of Joey Jordison’s drumming. Both guys were/are extremely multi-instrumentalist songwriters.

Medicine at midnight is fun

I just relistened to it and remembered why i liked it when it came out. The Songs and vibes are fun, eventhough nothing stands out. A very solid release. Its unfortunate that the new album is such a mixed experience in terms of songwriting and production. Especially after BHWA...

Enjoying these dorks trying to use social media

They have before of course, but it has been awhile and I am a big fan of whoever has been hired to run their accounts recently, they are responsive and seem like a real fan themselves. Hope this keeps up

What’s your favorite post-Wasting Light album?

Hey all! I’m curious as to which of the “newer” Foo Fighters albums the fanbase seems to enjoy the most. Because Reddit goes up to six choices per poll, I threw in the Dream Widow side-project too.

For me, my favorite is But Here We Are, but all the albums have good songs on them!

Quick Question is the "BMG Blue guitar" used in the new "YFT" record?

I didnt really noticed the iconic sound of Brian May's guitar in the album, but the photos in the recordings for this album shows Dave with a BMG (but in Blue and white) curious if you guys heard it and if I just missed it.

Putting my 2 cents where the sun dont shine

Your favourite toy finally arrived but thats for another vent!

I avoided all singles bar asking for a friend. Which for a avid 20 year foo tat wearing fan was hard.

But so glad I did. I've got into vinyl recently like we all have. So I wanted to put my slippers on, pour a drink and listen to the album like an old man.

It's the opposite effect! I've broken 2 air guitars and Rubins drumming, well it leaves a hole in my chest for more reasons that one.

It's catchy, which Dave always seems to get right. Verse, chorus, verse, pre chorus, chorus. It works though. It's not going to change your life lyrically, its not for that. If thats what you need there is so much older music for that. This is such a fun album. Ive been reading, their old, past it, etc etc. I feel its the opposite. There's so much energy in the album. That may be the drumming, I haven't dissected it yet.

This mixing thing people keep going on about?? My opinion and I'm shit at mixing is it sounds fucking great! Anyway, enjoy!!!!!!!
