- This is a warning to anyone who’s thinking of buying an XRV kit.
When people say “Just Vesc” I’d like if it was just that easy, but I understand why people like base FM boards with a sense of warrant -
there is a reality of problems in Vesc that people don’t expect and also don’t have any idea of fixing. I share this same problem with many others here, I’ve replaced the battery, tried two separate BMS’s, soldered what I thought were crimped wires, and tested charges on the controller board, with no apparent change or appearance of my issue.
If anyone has found any solution or idea of what this is, please share.
PSA TLDR: Please check your battery voltage, even if is not from Indy Speed Control. XRV controllers have a parasitic drain that will damage the battery beyond repair.
so I knew that the board was about to die and I was about two minutes away from my car and I was going slow maybe about 7 miles an hour when my board just shut off and it flew me off. Is there any setting that I have to actually put on that beep to warn me that it’s about to die or starts nose diving before it starts to die instead of just shutting off? I was going up a slight hill (not steep) and I see it’s at 104% duty cycle and I had my settings so that it’ll warn me at 90% duty but nothing played
I’m sitting on the sidewalk just pissed because I love everything about this board, but I cannot believe out of all the features is does have that it just shut off before it dies instead of warning you at all. I’ve never rode it to be that low of battery and at 21% I thought I would have enough juice to get back to my car.
Any tips?? :(
Hey guys,
I’m having a serious issue with my Floatwheel ADV2 and wanted to ask if anyone experienced something similar.
Problem:
The board often cannot be turned on at all
Power button does not respond
It only turns on again after being connected to the charger for a longer time (sometimes 2–3 hours)
After that, it may work temporarily
Additional behavior:
When I step on the board, it sometimes starts beeping continuously and gives haptic feedback (like a warning)
I also had cases where the board seemed “frozen” and did not respond properly
Important:
VESC / Refloat settings are correct
BMS readings show balanced cells and normal voltage
This does NOT seem to be a configuration issue
To me, it feels like a BMS wake problem or power/startup issue.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Is this a known issue (BMS / power button / controller)?
Any help would be really appreciated
Is their a kit to replace all external bolts on ADV1. Most of my bolts are rusted and I'd like to replace them when I'm doing ADV1 electronics upgrade.
I have the ADV one and after some operation testing I believe that my battery weld is bad so I ordered a new battery. The battery is ADV two. And it also came with a version 2 BMS. Will the new BMS work with my version one main board? There are two connectors on the new BMS that do not have corresponding wires in the old version one compartment. Has anyone tried this? Am I going to melt something?
