We have recently moved to Saline, and we are already questioning whether this was the right choice. We were told this was a lovely place where people are community orientated/neighbourly. Yet, I have only really come across people who think they are above "new comers" or complete riots.
Some people here just seem really 'off' too.
I'm in Eastercraigs if that helps any?
Are there other areas in Saline that are a bit better, or do people suggest we go elsewhere?
What a soul destroying activity, searching for a parking space. They need to stop expanding the hospital if they won’t build a multi story carpark or whatever is needed.
Just seen this sub on my feed for some reason. So weird i've lived in England since I was a kid and never even heard of this place before. Thought it was a made up town from jack and the beanstalk? Fi fife o fum?
Hi, I hope this is ok to post!
Dundee is hosting its second ever Pint of Science! A three day festival designed to bring researchers and their communities together, Pint of Science consists of evening talks with Dundee researchers at the forefront of science in a relaxed pub or bar setting.
We have twelve events at four different venues, and there is something for everyone - from Parkinsons research, the history of comic book design, the Dundee Eden Project, barley, psychology, astronomy, bacteria, drug design, birding, religion, forensic psychology, the arctic!
There will be researchers from the University of Abertay, University of Dundee, the Centre for Targeted Protein Degradation, the James Hutton Institute, the University of St. Andrews, the Eden Project and more!
Find our events here: https://pintofscience.co.uk/events/dundee/
Tickets are £5 and go towards keeping the event going. Pint of Science is a non-profit run by volunteers across the University and institutes.
William Wallace, we've come to fight and to die for you
I just want to share a couple of pictures that I took today while walking back through Glen Vale towards the car park. I have never seen funnel clouds before.
Specifically Pittenweem?

I'm a Fife resident and university student undertaking a small environmental science project, part of which is looking at the relationship between access to and connection to nature at Pittenweem tidal pool. It's a very short survey of 3 open-ended questions.
I would love to hear people's thoughts if anyone is willing to share? I will share the Google Forms survey link for anyone interested in taking part. Just a few mins of your time!
Thank you very much ☺️
Years ago I saw that Fife Libraries were gifted some 3D printers.
But, apart from a couple of social media posts showing them having a go, I don’t think they ever actually became available for public use.
Anyone know if the libraries have 3D printers now? Or if they’re available via any other local ‘maker space’?
I'm looking specifically for people who are managing severe mental illness and are therefore at risk of weight gain (through medication or lack of self-care) and therefore cardiometabolic issues/obesity.
Did you ever see a dietician when you were put on medication? If not, why? If you did, what was your experience?
Honestly don't expect many replies to this lol. Even just one would be great! Thank you.
