It's how I feel both reading and writing Mortal Kombat smut, given how prim and proper the vast majority of its characters talk most of the time.

looking for dragon/human romance/smut fics (with NO SHIFTING-)

continually thirsting for dragon fics, and finding this stuff is damn near impossible sometimes, so i'm throwing this ask to the reddit gods.
fandom doesn't matter, as long as:
-one half of the pairing is a dragon, other is a human/humanoid/human-adjacent
-the dragon does not have any alternate forms, stays a dragon the whole time
-dragon with FOUR legs, wings, not anthro in the least

Slowburn would be greatly appreciated but aren't required, really i just need something that's outside the typical mean dommy male monster dynamic. with dragons.

This isn't really me talking about a new rule, but to remind everyone that we're all human.

I would like to believe that this subreddit is full of people who like to uplift one another in our writing journeys, but seeing downvoted posts really makes me feel sad. People here worked hard on their stories. People here were brave enough to share their passion projects. People want a place to talk about their interpretations of what they'd like to see from a show or movie or book.

Whether you don't like the creator of the main work, or you secretly don't like the fanfiction author, or you don't like the series the work is from, or you don't like the work the fanfic author produced, that doesn't mean anyone deserves downvotes. We're supposed to unite. I know it would hurt a little (not a lot, though) to see something I worked hard on in a subreddit like this get downvoted for reasons unknown. This isn't a like or dislike thing. You might not like some shows, movies, or books, that doesn't mean you have to downvote. I don't know about you and maybe it's my empathy, but I can't imagine putting my passion out there just for it to be seen as disliked. Similar to the unwritten don't like, don't read rule, let's not downvote when people are trying to get the courage to show what they like.

I’m writing an au and need some help

what greek / roman god would every hazbin hotel character be a child of

I’m saying

alastor - Hecate because of voodoo and Apollo because of musical talent and charm ( could also be aphrodite with charm speak or nemisis or hades because of grudge holding and another child of hades/ Pluto hazel Lévesque originally lived in New Orleans like him )

rosie - hecate or hades also potentially also Aphrodite

charlie - Hermes’ athena or legacy of Aphrodite

vaggi - Athena ares or Hermes

lute - ares ( either child or legacy )

lu - Hermes’ or legacy of aphrodite

niffty - ares or hestia ( she was born out of a fireplace)

husk - dionysus , or Hermes maybe also Ganymede or iris ( I love the thought of Ganymede being his dad or if he‘s a legacy in the au distant relative )

angel- Aphrodite I think maybe also Nyx or nemesis or something (maybe dionysus because of the cisgender thing )

vox - Zeus because of wanting to become a god and his lightning bolt eye ( maybe legacy of Zeus and son of keto/ceto who’s the godess of sharks) definitely not Poseidon lol 🤣

valentino - child of hecate , nyx or aphrodite because of his heart glasses and control over smoke

velvette - Aphrodite obviously but also maybe Hecate or nemesis or Nyx maybe also hades

sr pentious - Hephaestus or Athena

Cherri bomb - ares? I don’t know…

let me know what you think!

Self Promo Sunday! The Story of Us

I hope this is OK to post here 🤣 I have12 chapters posted so far... completed just editing chapters before I post each Sunday. Depending on the editing, it may go over 20 chapters, but not by much.

Summary:

Despite her status as the “Brightest Witch of Her Age” and having a successful ministry career, Hermione Granger finds herself at the age of 40, questioning the “independent” life she’s built.

Her struggle to balance her public strength with the private ache of her secret relationship. Memories of a passionate, long-standing love that began in the alcoves of Hogwarts, a flame that has never died and she can’t let go of. The realization that her life is unshared, alone, and not what she visioned leads to a quiet breakdown and determination for change.

Any feedback from writers is appreciated 😁

Does Anyone Else Get Commission/Artwork/Comic Requests?

Mind you, I love it when people make good comments about my fanfictions. But lately I've been receiving several requests and suggestions of creating comics and other artwork of some of my works, and it's getting old and irritating, especially when folks indicate that it would be commission and/or they ask me to connect with them further on Discord or some other similar site! Has anyone else experienced this, and if so do you have any tips on how to handle such requests and comments?

TIA!

How to navigate writing a story with canon elements, but main characters of your story are the show's deuteragonists, tertiary characters, or foils.

I have a story in which the main characters of my story aren't the main characters of the source; and even more, the plan of the story is to go through the canonical stuff.

So here is the problem. It feels like some of the major points of the story are going to be skipped because the main parts of the story arcs are about characters who aren't the ones I'm highlighting in this story.

I have read a story that went through the canonical story line, but the writer would skip some of it while simultaneously adding their own things. However, the main characters in the story are also the main characters of the show. The main characters in my story are a deuteragonist and a tertiary character in the show/manga. I think you could also say they're static or stock characters.

I just think I might end up cutting a lot of stuff and might possibly highlight them at the beginning of the following chapters. But I don't know.

What would you do?

How wide is your screen when you read?

I'm thinking of playing around and doing something artsy with the formatting like in this concrete pattern poem by Dylan Thomas.

My question is this, when you read fanfic, on any platform, about how many characters across is your screen? AO3 on my phone is about 65 characters but I would love to do an informal poll on everyone else's settings.

I want to do a full rewrite/ Alternate Universe/ Canon Divergence of Star Wars after Return of the Jedi movie. This includes to disregard all Star Wars movies like the Sequel trilogy and every single TV Show made by Disney set in the New Republic Time period, including Legends and Canon lore. But it doesn't mean I will throw everything out the window and I will instead borrow elements from Canon and Legends lore. Instead my fanfiction will aim to explore the stories of the newly budding New Republic, New Jedi Order founded by Luke Skywalker, the Imperial Remnants and their infighting while also conquering planets and ruling as warlords while fighting the New Republic, the Criminal Empire of the Outer rims who are eager to expand since the New Republic is slowly building itself up, and the Imperial remnants are a thorn in both factions' sides and people have less trust in the galactic ruling party, whether its the Empire or the New Republic due to the distrust both the Old Republic and the Tyranny of the Empire, so a rise in criminal organisations and Bounty Hunters. Amidst all of that, my protagonist is Nuras Vuld, an Arkanian Jedi of the New Jedi Order, and his first mission is to go search for a new planet that has Khyber crystals for the expanding Jedi order since Jedha is long destroyed and Palpatine had ruined Ilum so horribly. And the Antagonists should be many. One of such antagonists is a former Imperial Remnant slave Umbaran woman who used to work in a toxic planet, mining, he escapes and stumbles into a buried and long forgotten Sith temple from the Republic Dark Age. And she will be the new successor of the Dark Side of the Force as the holocrons and restless spirits of long dead Sith from the Dark Age of the Republic teach her the Dark Side and for a traumatized former slave who knows nothing else, not even hope, she is going to be the overarching villain along with the Imperial Remnants and a terrifying villain at that. The themes I'd like to explore is people trying to heal, to trust and to hope the current government after decades of mistreatment, guerilla warfare between The New Republic, The Imperial remnants and the Criminal Empires of the galaxy, as well as beautiful exploration and rediscovery of various worlds and its untapped beauty in the quest to find a new planet for Khyber crystals, and how troublesome a government establishment can be when it is trying everything to be nothing like its predecessors and still get all the blame for many things, and on similar veins to the Jedi Order due to the Imperial Propoganda and the bad image Vader, Sidious and the Inquisitorius had left on the collective psyche of the galaxy
