I'm looking for songs that feel magical, like you're walking through a beautiful enchanted forest. Calming, but also a hint of adventure.

Weaving fairytales in the old woods of New England

In the northeastern corner of North America, the winters are long, the summers are brief, and the autumns take your breath away. The woods are filled with moss-coated stone walls that are centuries old and the veil between realms seems thin. In celebration of the magic of the northern woods, I have created sculptures of the wee folk I imagine live in this special place…and their stories too, for the young-at-heart and all believers in the wonder of the world around us. The stories are free to read at Fiddlehead Ink, with a link to be found on my bio. I hope you enjoy them!

Black Fae Day (apologies if wrong flair)

Last year I hosted a fantasy picnic in Kyoto Gardens, London with the theme being“Faemily Reunion” which is a little play on “family reunion,” but for fae creatures instead. ✨🧚🏾‍♀️

The idea was to create a soft, whimsical space where people could dress up in fantasy-inspired outfits, wear flower crowns, eat good food, blow bubbles, take photos, and spend time together surrounded by nature and magic. 🌿🍄

We had tiny mushroom decorations, colourful fairy-inspired treats, picnic spreads, music, crafts, and so much laughter under the trees. It genuinely felt like stepping into a little faerie world for the afternoon.

I originally wanted to host another one this year for Black Fae Day, but life became a bit too busy so the gathering will be returning next year instead, hopefully even bigger and more magical. ✨

These photos are some of my favourite memories from the day, and I wanted to share them here with fellow cottagecore/fairycore lovers who might appreciate the whimsy and cosy fantasy vibes as much as I do. 💚

Happy Black Fae Day to everyone celebrating today. May we all continue creating spaces filled with imagination, softness, creativity, and community. 🫧🌸
