OBX CatBack Installed on My CT200h – First Impressions (No performance expectations)

Just installed an OBX cat-back exhaust on my CT200h and wanted to share some quick thoughts for anyone curious.

First off—this wasn’t about performance at all. I know this platform isn’t built for that, and I wasn’t expecting any gains. I just wanted something a little louder than stock to make the daily a bit more enjoyable.

So far, I’m actually pretty happy with it. The sound is deeper than stock and gives the car a nicer tone without being over the top. One of my biggest concerns going in was drone, but I’m not experiencing any so far, which is a huge plus.

Build quality seems solid for the price, and overall it feels like a good value. The only thing I’m still getting used to is the center-exit tip design—it sits right in the middle, kind of like the newer Civics. Didn’t love it at first, but it’s slowly growing on me.

For reference, the video attached is just the car parked and idling at light revs around 1,200 RPM to give an idea of the sound. I’ve only put about 40 miles on it so far, so I’m curious if the tone will deepen a bit over time. Also, excuse the transmission input damper noise in the clip.

Overall, I’d rate it around a 7.5–8/10 for what I was looking for. If you just want a slightly better sound without making the car obnoxious, this seems like a solid option.

What do I need to start an exhaust business?

I’m 18 years old and I’ve always been interested in cars, my friends are all in the automotive business like car wrapping and tinting, detailing, kit sourcing and installations, etc.

I’ve been looking into doing exhausts like mufflers, full exhaust systems, dpf removals, etc.

Could someone who js in this line of work tell me what experience I would need and what apparatus will be required for this. Could I start with some tools and then progress into doing more,(e.g coulr j start with a basic welder doing rear mufflers and then in later stages buy a pipe bender to do fully custom builds?).

As far as experience I have the basic tools knowledge and a basic idea of how the exhaust systems work, but I’m looking into doing a TIG welding course later this year.

Any advice is appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated…

Whats up everyone. Have a 17’ Durango R/T and wanting an exhaust upgrade. Would like a deep tone and not obnoxiously loud and tin canny rasp bullshit. I just bought 2 LCGP resonators, gloss black 5” SRT/Ram tips and an X pipe. Originally thinking I cut the mid suitcase muffler or resonator whatever it is and install the X pipe and then install the LCGP right at the 5” tips after removing the factory rear mufflers/resonators whichever they are, not here for bickering between the two haha.

Can anyone help me with tips or vids of their set up please? Or should I not use X pipe, LCGP in place of suitcase and straight piped to 5” tips? Or install X pipe after the LCGP where the suitcase is and straight piped to the tips? I am beyond overwhelmed with all the exhaust addict videos I have watched and honestly just confused now. I got deals on ebay today for the LCGP, 5” tips and x pipe so I do not have yet. THANKS in advance everyone! Have a great day. Will be going on this ride above… 🍻

Do you guys think a clamp-on repair sleeve will do the job? 2011 Camry 4cyl

If not, what’s a fair price for a muffler weld service here?

I’m interested in getting a valve exhaust (mine didn’t have one stock) and thought of getting either a valve cut out or a valves muffler but I don’t wanna devalue the car by cutting the exhaust. And every exhaust system is very pricey and I thought of getting a alibaba exhaust so I can just clamp it on and not mess up the oem exhaust. if you have any other solutions please let me know or if you know any good alibaba exhaust please get back to me, thank you.

Will I pass modified exhaust inspection? VC 27151 (a)

I have a 435i…just got a fix it ticket for VC 27151(a) in Irvine, CA. Currently running catless DP, res delete, and AWE touring exhaust. If I put my stock muffler back on but keep my catless DP, do you think I can pass the noise inspection and get the ticket “corrected”…I believe it’s 95 dbA. Since the ticket is just for noise I’m not concerned with emissions, I just wanna know if the catless dp + stock muffler is quiet enough when I bring it to a cop to sign off for proof of correction.

I was planning on putting my stock muffler back anyway so I’d rather just do that now. I just don’t know if I should put my stock cats back on.

What are your thoughts?

Been experimenting with a few gold exhaust tip designs lately.

Tried different styles - quad, twin, longer tips - but feels like some styles still missing.

Curious what you guys think - what would you change or add?

How could I fix this misalignment?

In the first pic, the right tip is bent away from the left one while the left one is straight.

After looking at it, it seems the small pipe that comes off the side of the muffler is slightly angled. The exhaust is mandrel bent stainless steel, is there anyway that I can bend that pipe to align it better? I tried and it does not want to budge lol.

I have a 1992 Chevy K2500 that I recently got a full exhaust done on and the shop quoted me roughly $1,200-$1,500 total for labor plus tubing. I supplied the long tube headers, mufflers and exhaust tips I just needed the tubing and hangers. I got a true dual set up with an x pipe and symmetrical tips out the sides. I will upload pictures once I pick it up tomorrow as well as share the final price. The shop called me today and said all the header bolts snapped (which I obviously don't know how true that is because I wasn't there but I know it's very common) and that it was around 8ish house of labor and their rate is $144 an hour plus the cost of the tubing and such. Is this a fair price or did I get ripped off? It is a Master Autotech shop if that means anything (somewhat reputable).

Just bought a 350z (!!!!) but the previous owner installed the loudest exhaust known to man (he did a muffler delete I believe). I feel so embarrassed every time I start up the car. I have nothing against tasteful exhaust upgrades but this is way too much for me to handle. And I tend to like cars with quiet exhausts 😄.

Is there anything quieter than the stock exhaust that I could fit to the car - or any other ways to quiet the exhaust? I'm not too concerned about loosing power as long as it's not a nuisance to everyone around me (and myself)

Had a terrible exhaust leak in my 1997 Camry so I bought some after market walker exhaust parts and switched the old ones out , the cat flange was completely rusted out , one of the 3 cat to manifold bolts was stripped so I tighten it the best I could to try and seal the gasket , it sounds a thousand times better but I ran a obd scan tool and it said the the o2 sensor on the mid pipe is reading 0.0 and ltft1 is at 21.9 percent , no check engine light yet but the o2 sensor is pending , should I try and fix that manifold bolt , is that the cause of it running lean? that the gasket isn’t seating properly
