So I understand not unlocking Endless Mode until we beat diff 10, but I think it's a bit unfortunate we can't play Endless Mode on the lower difficulties after unlocking it. Sometimes I just want an easy Endless run :(

It was fun for a bit but 15+ tries on preasure 6 and it actually feels impossible. Is there a difficulty slider I'm missing? I see people have progressed farther but *how*? No combonation of skills, except for legendary hump with legendary body slam work and they are so rare.

I have been playing since Demo and watching quite a few videos (Shout out to Introvert Party for his fun videos!) and there are quite a few obvious effects from the fungi: Deafening, Hallucinogenic, Medicinal, Poisonous, Lethal, Spicy & Refreshing are easy to understand. What is the effect that the Yummy, Nutritious and Amusing mushrooms have though? I have not yet been able to figure it out through gameplay.

I never choose any self damaging evolutions cuz it honestly sounds bad. Like maybe Im wrong, but it just sounds like Im getting punished with no good side.

Could anyone explain to me why/when they are useful? Like the main thing in my mind rn is Antlers. It sounds good and all without the self damge thing, but I just dont get it why I would ever pick it instead of something else.

So if anyone knows about this more then me I'd highly appreciate some help!

Firstly I'm really enjoying the game so far, it's so much fun and so many elements of it are really interestingly designed.

But I do have one specific criticism, and I wonder if other people will agree with it.

The way the game is set up atm the beginning of the runs are the hardest part by far, i've found that if I can survive past the first boss my chances of making it to the end are pretty high. The game is also quite difficult in terms of actually surviving to the end of the first boss. It can be a little frustrating when you die so often so early in the run, but that is par for the course with a game like this, and not something I have a problem with.

However, the point at which you actually begin to feel strong in the run is usually around the 3rd or 4th boss, at which point you only have a little time remaining in the run.

The net result of this is that you spend most of your time dying very early, and then when you finally make it work and manage to survive past that the run is over before you really have a chance to enjoy it.

I can understand the devs wanting not to make each run overly long, and around 20 minutes per run is pretty nice, but I think it would feel a lot better if they even added just one more segment and boss to each run. It wouldn't add a huge amount of time, and it would mean that when you get a run going you do have a bit of time to actually enjoy that.

I know there's endless mode, but I feel like before unlocking that the game would feel a lot better with this small amount of additional run time at the point where you've become a powerhouse.

Maybe other people will completely disagree with me though, let me know what you think.

So it didn't occur to me to screenshot everything the last time I did this and I could only post the build with its eyes closed. I also posted it wrong because for some reason the body wasn't included. So I got every evo again and while it isn't identical, it is pretty similar and shows all the unique parts of getting every evo. I'll type everything I was gonna say last time and hopefully the body paragraphs stay up this time.

It's not "everything" since some evos ban other evos. For example, I don't have jaws and a beak, just jaws since they ban each other. I also didn't use independent so I don't have every branching evolution. But I did get so many that there were none left to get when I levelled up. Like on the last 3 evolutions and fewer, it wouldn't let me reroll because there was nothing left to reroll for.

There was also some bugs from getting everything. One of them is shown in the image where if you have 2 evos left to complete and upgrade them, it shows one of them twice. Another bug was since I had every evo by the time the final boss fight started, levelling up in the boss fight didn't unlock any cataclysm resistance(not that I needed it). If I levelled up, the level counter would go up but no new moves would be unlocked even though new evolutions (extremophile and strength in numbers) are in the selection now.

So the main components of accomplishing this run were nomadic, whiskers, sprint, and speedy evos from boss fruit (legs, "more legs," and wings; or slithery, tentacles, and wings. I don't remember if I had wings with this one but if you want to replicate this then just use whichever of these show up first). Nomadic is the most important evo. It gives in instant level up no matter how high lvl you are if you go to a POI. The higher rarity on this, the better. Whiskers(the specialization of snout) boosts your speed like crazy when adding senses, which is further multiplied by sprint. Because you need nomadic and whiskers to pull this off, I prioritized gregarious and prey affinity, but also grabbed sprint as soon as it showed up. Maximize night time duration so that whiskers' speed boost stays around more often. This is done by getting nocturnal and wishing for winter whenever you come across that POI.

I also used carcinization both times for more food progress as seen from exoskeleton and stuff, but in the later part of the game I wasn't even prioritizing eating food since POIs upgraded me more so I'm not sure that's a requirement to get this high. Still, extra progress is very important to get all the important evos (nomadic + speed) as soon as possible.

This second time wasn't as glorious as the first time, though. This one was level 270, but the last run was in the 300s (I think it was 323 or somewhere around that). I actually visited more POIs than the first time, but my Nomadic was at a higher rarity so it did more on the first run which is why I'm lower level this run.

The first run I did I was trying to unlock vegan by dealing no dmg so I figured I'd just get prey and gregarious affinity and lvl up as much as possible in pressure 1 so I wouldn't need damage. But then since I unlocked everything possible I had to unlock spines and poison spores and that dealt some damage😭

Since I was going for vegan I had pacifist and minimalist in the first run, but in this run I had pacifist and pioneer.

I'm 3h in the game and so far I'm really enjoying it.
Nevertheless i feel like I've already seen everything? Are there some combinations that scale off of each other or something in this direction? Usually that's how roguelikes get me.

will the full release have a free version? i just got the message and i was hoping that it would be free. Even if it had like only 3 pressures, i would download it. i have the demo and it is super fun. i was thinking kind of like a version kind of like geometry dash lite, if you know that game.
