Friendly Pickle Ball for Beginner
Hi. I saw there are a lot of courses on https://www.pickleheads.com/. I'm a beginner and would like to play for exercise, make some friends, and hopefully get better. Is there a public court in Elk Grove that would welcome beginners? If so, when do people usually meet?
Police activity near Kunsting Park
Anyone know about what’s going on in this area? Just drove through and there are police everywhere, houses taped off with crime tape, helicopters flying over the park….
Help identifying a restaurant.
This is a long shot, but 10-15 years ago, I went to a restaurant with my family. I think it was in Elk Grove, but it might have been Sac. The food was American (steak, seafood, etc.). The place was small and, from what I can remember, looked like it had been around since the seventies-ish. It was dimly lit inside.
Another detail: When entering the restaurant from the parking lot, there was a small boat (like a rowboat) to the right.
I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has any clue what I’m talking about based on the info above, I’ll be so happy!
Elk Grove PD has some serious technology.
I mean, I kinda want to complain about the surveillance state and stuff, but first I have to admit I am impressed.
Oasis dog park
My post keeps getting deleted so I'm trying one last time. I just wanted to warn others about the type of environment you'd be entering if you go inside the oasis dog park (small dog area specifically that I know of). My husband entered with our 3 kids and our 10 year old was immediately bitten when he ran inside. They were going to sit down and look at the dogs after being encouraged to do so by a regular. The small dog owners instantly blamed my husband and said that kids were not allowed. They all agreed that it was a possibility that someone could get bitten. The owner refused to provide information on vaccination status, but he finally got it after a while. Everyone, but one (very kind) person blamed my husband for my son getting bitten. He was bitten on his leg at least 3 times and had puncture wounds, scratches and was actively bleeding. One person dismissed it and said it was just a scratch. The rules allow children, but not aggressive dogs. He did not have to get any shots, but does need to take a week of antibiotics. I just wanted to let others know if you ever decide to go inside.
Help us find this thief
Hey yall,
The driver of this truck stole some expensive equipment from my buddy’s pool cleaning biz here in Elk Grove.
If you see this truck or recognize it, please reach out to me and / or EG PD.
Thanks!
Anyone have intel on what's going on with the Yard House opening at The Village?
My son has been interviewing for a position there and his interview has now been pushed back twice. It was supposed to happen this week and then next week and now they just moved it to late May.
For context, this restaurant was originally supposed to open in 2025, then "Spring 2026," and their own website still just says "Opening Spring 2026" with no specific date. Meanwhile The Village as a whole seems to be moving along. Has anyone driven by recently and have eyes on how far along construction/buildout actually is?
Any tea appreciated
Will anybody be going to the WNBA watch parties in Sacramento?
Also, does Elk Grove have WNBA watch parties? Either way, this sounds exciting!
Looking for a Job
Hi! I’m currently looking for a part-time job in the Elk Grove area and was wondering if anyone knows places that are hiring right now. I'm a third year engineering major working at my college.
I have about 8 months of front desk/customer service experience at a community college, where I regularly helped people, answered questions, and worked in a fast-paced environment. I’m friendly, reliable, and really enjoy working with others. This is my first job that I currently still work at, so unfortunately I don't have any other work experience.
I’m looking for around 20 hours per week. I’ll be a university student in the fall, but I’m available a lot during the summer and can continue working during fall as well, including evenings, weekends, and most holidays. Depending on what days my classes are, I can probably work multiple days a week too.
I’m open to retail, grocery stores, cafes, or anything customer service related. If you know anywhere hiring or have recommendations, I’d really appreciate it, thank you!
Where can I send a fax for a low price.
Kaiser is playing games with me so I have to send something by either mail or fax. Any places that can send a fax for a low price? I haven’t send a fax in probably 10/15 years. 😂

Oasis dog park bite
I posted this on nextdoor too.
On Sunday, 4/19 at 7 pm, my husband and three children (10 and under) went to Oasis dog park. My 10-year-old son was bitten at the small dog area, and my husband was shocked by the reaction most people had when it occurred. My husband occasionally stops by this park to let our children play, but he sometimes walks around the dog park because our kids really like dogs. He actually became friends with a regular there (a very kind older man) who encouraged us to go inside one day. My husband told our children before entering that they were just going to walk to the bench and sit down to look. He did look at the sign, and it never said children were not allowed. It did say, however, that aggressive dogs were not allowed. When he entered the area, he noticed that one small dog was already getting a bit angry and was trying to nip at our kids. My oldest decided to run ahead and was immediately bitten several times on his leg by another dog there. Everyone just stared, and only one kind person out of 8 people came to help. The kind person and my husband went to get the owner's information to make sure the dog was up to date on its vaccinations, and everyone there immediately placed the blame on my husband. They said children were not allowed, and there was always a chance someone could be bitten. One person dismissed my hurt son and said that it was just a scratch without looking at his wounds. He was actively bleeding and had puncture wounds and scratches on his leg. He explained to them that he would need to take him to the ER without any proof and that they would have to give him the rabies shots, and they said, "go ahead, take him!". It took him a very long time, but he was finally able to get her information. Fortunately, my son did not have to take any shots, but he will need to take a week of antibiotics. I just wanted to let people know what it was like for them.
Nee-dohs in Elk Grove
Does anyone know where I can buy a nee-doh from in EG aside from a reseller? I’ve looked at Target and 5 below. I’m unsure where else to look or when to find out when they are restocked? I hate to call stores bugging them as I’m sure they get annoyed with the same question. Thanks!!!
I am so sorry
To the lady I cut off on Laguna and Bruceville. I am an idiot and I am so sorry for yelling at you. I have lived here 20 years and did not realize that had two turn lanes. I am a jerk and I sincerely apologize
