Stanford making more money from athletics than FSU, Duke and UNC. Kinda bizarre.
Cameron Boozer
Hello. Bulls fans here projected to get Boozer 4th overall. I did not watch him play much this past year so was hoping for an evaluation from those who did.
What are his strengths/weaknesses? Does he lack athleticism and will that be a problem in the league? Are there any comparable NBA players?
Thanks!
Blackwell comments at combine

Has anyone else seen this? I knew he had declared for the draft before committing but kind of thought he was going to pull out of the combine. Now he’s there and “everything is up in the air” and he’s got a “big decision to make”? Number of other comments made me feel not so great after everyone said this wasn’t Coward 2.0. Is everyone just using the Duke name to up their draft stock?
Worried about next years team
I think Jon Scheyer is most successful when he coaches a defense first mentality. That’s why we only lost 7 games the last two years. I’m worried that the focus on small guards and trying to play fast in transition will just make us regress into one of the many other teams that can reliably score but can’t defend. John Blackwells nba combine measurements have him with a shorter wingspan to height ratio, also he isn’t known for being g a strong defender and now he’s supposed to be our main guy? That’s a huge liability. I think honesty they should have focused on get physical, older bigs in the portal that can just play a strong role to complement Ngongba with Rippey, boozer and foster being an already strong backcourt. If Blackwell takes the spotlight it’s too many cooks in the kitchen and the other guards can’t reach their full potential. And for the bigs, we have two teenagers with boom boom and Cameron Williams and the Belmont transfer who actually seems like a strong role player for defense. I’m worried cause we lost Maliq and cam boozer who both played top notch defense even Isiah evens played great defense. Scheyer has to keep focusing on defense if we want to win, I don’t think a new recipe is going to help us.
Is JBB better than Cam Williams
Don’t flame me I know it’s dumb to pit our players against each other and they are both great players regardless. But I really think JBB/Boom Boom is a stud and he might get the edge over Williams. What do you guys think? I’ve seen film of both of them and their games are so similar but JBB seems to have a bit more explosiveness/Cooper Flagg dog in him while Williams is pure finesse and fluidity. Just my two cents you are free to disagree!
-Boozer
-Ngongba
-Sarr
-Williams
-Foster
-Blackwell
-Howard
-Rippey
-Wilkins
-Scharnowski
-Boumtje Boumtje (?!)
-Meyer
This shit is crazy. Say what you want about Scheyer but he is a killer in the recruiting game. Fuck all the naysayers talking about money cause we got Blackwell even when Louisville was on its knees begging him to come for $5 mil. Duke is just different DDMF.
Still trying to grieve both endings truthfully. Which season ending loss still haunts you the most?
The 6-4 junior averaged 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game this season.
Rotation Size and Talent next season
I know it’s so early and we haven’t even seen these guys on the floor together yet but BOY there is some insane upside to next year’s team. I don’t think people understand how huge Boumtje Boumtje is as a pick up. He has been upgraded to #1 overall in the class and for good reason his inherent talent, finesse and IQ are just unbeatable. Not to mention we will have a very similarly skilled player in cam Williams. They are young blah blah but they will lock in, Scheyer won’t waste their potential.
Even more insane is this team could very well run a lineup of all bigs with Ngongba, Scharnowski, Williams, and Boumtje Boumtje all on the floor at the same time — it would be a literal NBA team on the floor in terms of size and close to it in terms of talent. Blackwell, Sarr and Howard would rotate the Williams spot and Wilkins would potentially sub Scharnowski and of course we will have our elite backcourt. Especially excited for Boozer/Rippey to be the pg in an all-big lineup because they bring speed and the ability to run in transition which Boumtje Boumtje and Scharnwoski can already do at a high level. This team is gonna be so fun to watch I’m already giddy for this upcoming season let’s go DUKE!
As a fan, I don’t like the whole sports/streaming service exclusivity trend. But for the Duke brand, it just shows how marketable it’s become. Duke basketball is a well oiled machine.
Duke continues to strengthen its roster for the 2026-27 season by adding the son of an NBA veteran who played for Georgetown. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/mens-cbb/one-of-the-highest-ceiling-prospects-duke-lands-massive-commitment-from-7-foot-son-of-nba-center/
Guys, exactly what the title suggest… obviously over the last 6 or 7 years we’ve had some tragic, heartbreaking finishes in the NCAA tournament. Been so close to at least a couple more championships, and that’s being generous. I know everything has to go perfect and most of it’s actually luck when it comes to down to the end… but man when does the pain stop? Are we actually due for our 6th National championship soon? Have we suffered enough from the college basketball gods? I am thankful and I know it could be a lot worse, but I’m not comparing programs. I’m talking Duke basketball here.
