G’day everyone,

I’m looking for someone to act as the Head Artist for a webmanga series that I want to develop – a blend of battle shonen and southern gothic fantasy.

Initial payment will initially be $60 NZD per week (roughly $35.57 USD), at a rate that the artist finds acceptable.

In addition to work on the series, I would need this person to also:

  • Provide insight and advice to help ensure that the project remains logistically feasible
  • Develop proof-of-concept art in order to help secure extra funding.

Because I have a very specific vision for the project, I am looking for an individual with the following qualities:

  • Comfortable with making character designs that draw strong influence from Kotoyama, Kohei Horikoshi and 90s anime.
  • Has a strong appreciation for the nuances that make the manga aesthetic distinct from other art styles
  • Comfortable with working in a variety of mediums and aesthetic styles
  • Able to draw on a wide and eclectic range of visual influences outside of manga
  • Comfortable with expressionistic imagery
  • Comfortable with nuanced facial expressions and character posing
  • Comfortable with committing to a long-term project
  • Comfortable with bringing their own artistic sensibilities to the project

I also plan on hiring an Assistant Artist in order to undertake any specific tasks that fall outside the Head Artist’s area of expertise.

If this is something you’d be interested in, please leave a comment and DM me with the following:

  • A resume/CV
  • Links to your professional social media accounts
  • WIP images or time-lapse videos for at least two pieces of your work
  • Verified testimonies from previous clients (optional, but it helps)

The planned cut-off day for applications will be 30th May NZT.

If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments.

Thank you all for your time :)

(P.S. Please let me know if there is any information I need to add to this post in order to be compatible with the community guidelines)

Below “0” (Manga One shot)

My name is Isaiah and I just wanna come on here to pitch my one shot manga idea and see if my story is interesting enough to flesh out into a actual manga eventually. I just want to make a simple 16 page one shot but need help with my character designs. I still want to learn to draw myself and will continue to draw but I believe a team is always better than a single person. The last picture is panel 1 of page 1 of my storyboard to my one shot. These will be the type of pictures I’ll send u if we work together. DM or comment and lmk what you guys think!!
