New statues out now!
The way Rattly is placed, it looks like there’s room for three or four more animal buddies.

Can be done a lot faster, this was a blind run
Strategy: Stack Hyper Hopper, Low-Down Beat, Slo-Mo Beat, Jumpin' Beat. Demolishers are fine. Farm any enemy you like, make sure you kill them with a charge jump while you're on top of them. Staring Down is on the rare fossil in the sand near Grumpy on SL1203 (there may be other spots). You want to do the first few goals for chips so you can buy at least 2 Better Glare, 1 Bananergy, Better Charge Jump and Jump Burst (you can also get them from bananas). Once you have enough Better Glare and Staring Down, keep Glare active at all times to slow the round timer.
Really easy when you're abusing Staring Down. I don't think I really optimized it all that well either, I could see shaving it down to Round 5 very easily.
Besides Staring Down, farming Illuminoids and Trapantuloids was the main strategy starting around Round 5 when I got enough of a multiplier. There are so many Illuminoids on sublayer 1203 you can easily farm most of them without much effort.
Loving this DK design. Replaying the game now, it’s so colorful
This is the biggest fossil Ive found so far and it wont let me break it
Even with the Bananza Forms
is there something im specifically suppose to do for big fossils?
I think my biggest issue with these events is that I am now only playing the game during these events. So, I have completely forgotten move sets, item locations, level layouts, etc. I think the last time I played as Snake was the Snake rehearsal (before the DLC was released). So each event, I’m trying to relearn the basics under a time limit. I’ve completed every other event (each one taking longer and getting uglier). I haven’t even claimed the first banandium chip reward this time (I usually unlock the first statue by now, and I completed the first event on my first try). Snake being one of my least used Bananza form doesn’t help at all. Sitting at a 1400 high score right now and this event just is not clicking…🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
So, suggestions for the first few rounds? Get the fossil map right away (next to the start location), snake transformation at the far end from the elder? Then just go beat a few void Kong challenges? Any critical fossils/bananas to get at the start (and mandatory rerolls)? Which critters are best to farm (and where are they?) Clothing for this event (I assume the 80% longer snake Bananza). Which skill to spent banana chips on first? Explain it like I’m 5 please. Thanks!
I left Ellie off the poll on purpose by the way, since in the inevitable Elephant Bananza Emerald Rush event, she is obviously going to be paired with the Elephant Bananza statue.
So, I knew I played Bananza a bit more then Odyssey, but I thought they were close. Nope…
Bananza: over 200 hours played
Odessey: over 20 hours played
The only games I have played more than Bananza are TOTK (over 300 hours played) and BOTW (over 250 hours played).
The common theme of all 3 of these games is that I fell in love with the worlds and wanted to explore them fully. Odyssey, I was playing through levels.
So, for me, Bananza is one of the greatest games I have ever experienced. Also, at least 100 hours of this was on the DLC (that I’m still pulling out and playing with every event). I haven’t even started a second play through yet.
So, yeah, Bananza is the Switch 2 marquee game. So other game is even close, and worth every penny…
I’ve lost count of the random bananas I’ve found underground. Should I just play however suits me? Because I feel struck down with ADHD with this game. By the time I get around to following the story I’ve destroyed the environment and none of it makes sense anymore
I just got the dlc like 2 days ago cuz I was curious about it. Man it’s addictive as hell, but it also gives me a lot of stress. I know you can hit rank V and I managed this one time on DK island and almost a second time at the resort layer. Is there any benefit to rank V? Cuz I’m not that great at snake bananza and I tried the snake combo build but it didn’t give me really great results. So far ba-none-za is better for me at this stage I feel. I read a few strategy guides and they helped me a lot.
But is there any reward (except the satisfaction) of getting rank V everywhere? It’d be great to hit 99k emerald one day but maybe I should not expect this after 2 days of playing the dlc. Very excited for the next event tho, hopefully I’ll have radiance layer unlocked by then.
Also for the players who do hit max emeralds, is luck/RNG part of the runs? Sometimes I have good perks in the early rounds but other times even when blocking I still get bad stuff.
ETA: another qn about the chips. Do the amount of chips you accumulate during the run correlate with the amount you get as a reward? Because sometimes in the last run I just spend the rest of them on skills because I saw you get chips for amount of skills unlocked. Or do you get a bonus the more green chips you find?
Am I cooked or is there a way to get apple juice, punching the rocks don't give anything.
I just finished the main story. Missed a few bananas/fossils along the way. Mostly in freeze layer as I wanted to get out of there asap. It brought me back to Ingot Isle where it looks like I can get alot more bananas. Is the post game just collecting more bananas? Does the post game go through each level again to collect more bananas or is there a point/different ending? I’m not a true completionist and debating moving onto something else.
Got to the Tempest layer and took a 4-month break while playing other games. Jumped back on recently and was hooked to the very end. What a twist, what fun gameplay, and what a challenge since I stubbornly refused to increase my hearts or upgrade anything beyond the Bananzas (except Zebra, which I still feel like are kinda pointless upgrades just based on their descriptions).
I died 8 times against V and 4 times against K. That regen tie came in clutch lol. Elephant’s the best, and a literal beast. So excited to tackle the post-game and complete this gem of a game before playing Odyssey for the first time!
You could easily just dismiss the inconsistencies of character ages in Bananza and the Mario games by saying Nintendo doesn't care but I think that's boring.
Kongs age slightly faster than humans before their aging slows down a lot to eventually reach human rates and their lifespans are about equal. DK and Diddy are let's say, chronologically 13 and 10 but biologically 18 and 15 in the country games and Bananza, and biologically 25 and 21 in the Mario games, which take place about 11 years later.
