r/DolbyAtmosContent

This app reinvigorated my love of Atmos.

I used the new *Scan library for Atmo tracks* feature and created a nice playlist (a few dupes, but that’s fine).

This led me to re calibrating my AVR and WOW, am I glad I did.

Thanks for creating this.

You can now scan your entire Apple Music library for Dolby Atmos tracks

Hey everyone,

Just shipped something I've wanted for a long time and many people asked about. A scanner that goes through your entire Apple Music library and pulls out every track that's available in Dolby Atmos.

You connect Apple Music, it reads your songs and albums, and then checks each one against the Atmos catalog. When it's done you get a clean list of every Atmos track you already own, plus a button to save them all to a new playlist (or add to an existing one).

Try it here: https://helloatmos.app/scan/

And please share your feedback!

Scan your entire TIDAL library for Dolby Atmos tracks. It's a 'beta' feature with some caveats, read more in post body.

So, a few people asked for this. I managed to do it, but with caveats.

  1. TIDAL Developer API is itself in Beta, and not very well documented.
  2. Rate limits are not documented either, and I had to be conservative here, so large libraries can take several minutes to scan, and the occasional tracks may be missed.
  3. It's not possible to flip the Tidal App to 'Production' from 'Development' in the Tidal Developer dashboard, thus I'm not sure how many concurrent users can use it. It also seems like they're not responding to github discussions asking about this (example).

However, I didn't want to leave TIDAL fans with nothing, so I decided to ship this anyways. It will most likely stay in 'beta' status as long as Tidal Developers Program will be in 'Beta'.

Looking for Sound Suite Testers: Pick Your Ideal Speaker Sets for Audio and Streaming

Hey r/DolbyAtmosContent,

If you’re into movies, music, and other content that really makes Dolby Atmos shine, we wanted to start a discussion around the best wireless speaker sets and configurations for immersive spatial audio across different spaces and listening setups.

Here are some key features often found in LG Sound Suite’s modern wireless system:

  • Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: Optimizes audio based on speaker position and room environment, regardless of how different speaker sets are arranged. Even when speakers are placed freely, it generates optimized audio signals tailored to the setup and the space, allowing more flexible placement and immersive surround sound across a wide range of configurations.
  • Flexible modular expansion: Supports up to 50 speaker configurations at the moment using H7, M5, M7, and W7, accommodating a wide range of room sizes and layouts (More combinations are expected to become available through a later software update, making the system highly expandable over time!)
  • Room Calibration Pro: Adjusts for room acoustics to improve spatial accuracy.

We’ll be selecting 3 lucky reviewers to experience and keep one of the following LG Sound Suite setups:

  • Immersive Suite 5 Pro
  • Stereo Suite 7*
  • Stereo Suite 5*

^(*For Stereo Suite 5/7, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect requires a Dolby Atmos FlexConnect-supported TV as the leader device)

Setup Option Included Units Recommended Space
Immersive Suite 5 Pro H7 + M5 ×2 x W7 Medium to large spaces for deep 2-speaker immersion
Stereo Suite 7 M7 ×2 Open-plan and larger rooms for real surround stereo sound
Stereo Suite 5 M5 ×2 Any space needing smart, adaptive sound for real surround stereo sound

Each Sound Suite setup is built from a combination of these core components:

  • H7: World’s first Dolby Atmos FlexConnect soundbar, also known as all-in-one soundbar with 4 subwoofers + 8 passive radiators
  • M7: Wireless speaker, featuring 3 full-range speaker units and 1 woofer for immersive clarity
  • M5: Wireless speaker with dual tweeters and 1 woofer for compact yet dynamic sound
  • W7: Wireless subwoofer featuring an 8-inch Peerless woofer for immersive deep bass

For more details on the LG Sound Suite setup and key features, please refer to the Megathread here.

Just discovered this thread on QQ forum. The Absolute Sound's "50 Best Atmos Mixes"

Great resource for quality Atmos mixes, although there is no information on the method behind this ranking.

The original article link (here). It's behind a paywall, but someone posted a full list on the QQ thread I linked to.

247 comments later: here's what shifted in the Dolby Atmos movies ranking, plus a new page with region-specific streaming and Blu-ray links.

Two days ago the Atmos movies ranking landed across r/hometheater, r/4kbluray, r/movies, r/sonos, and here. This gave new fuel of 247 comments combined. Every upvoted recommendation in those threads became a weighted signal and got folded into the re-run. Here is what your comments changed.

New entries in the Top 100

Rank Film Previous
#83 Ballerina #169
#89 Nosferatu #102
#93 Suspiria (1977) off list
#96 Sicario #107
#99 Puss in Boots: The Last Wish #296

Biggest mover

Alita: Battle Angel climbed from #80 to #37. That is 43 positions, driven by upvoted r/hometheater and r/4kbluray comments calling it a standout Atmos experience.

Other top-50 shifts

Δ Film Move
↑11 Civil War #36 → #25
↑8 LOTR: Two Towers #34 → #26
↑6 Warfare #46 → #40
↑5 Furiosa #40 → #35
↓5 Prey #31 → #36
↓5 Tron: Legacy #33 → #38

Dropped out of the Top 100: Sound of Metal (verified non-Atmos, excluded), Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Amazing Spider-Man, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Invisible Man.

The page I built for this list

A ranked list is only useful if you can actually find the films. The consensus page now does that:

https://helloatmos.app/ranking/movies/consensus/

Click any film to expand. You get:

  • Streaming availability in your country (subscription, rent, or buy), pulled live from TMDb.
  • Direct link to blu-ray.com for the UHD disc.
  • Re-recording mixer credits (the names behind the mix).
