Destination Wedding Freebie

Destination Wedding Freebie

I received this destination wedding photo as a freebie in an order, she popped 4/25 and there has been very slow incremental growth. She looks like a seedling almost 3 weeks after popping.

I’m not sure what to do outside of waiting or pulling it

Mother Earth ground swell is the medium
It’s under appropriate light because the auto that popped a few days before has exploded, where as the DW only has baby serrated leaves.

Black Phoenix v2

This was a freebie, but had hopes it would iron itself out with some sunshine.

What did to her?!

Maui Pine, Coast of Maine, Any Suggestions?

Any advice/suggestions? Second grow. Never got to harvest. I’m thinking mix of water, light, and feed issues. To keep it short; Germ direct in soil 03/13. I’m running Maui Pine by Dirty Bird Genetics using Coast of Maine Stonington Blend in 5gal fabric pot. Used about red solo cup worth of CoM Potting Soil. I was being too over cautious and watering with just a spray bottle first 2 weeks. Using filtered fridge GE tap water, letting evaporate for 24hrs prior to use using about 1/2 gal gooseneck can. About 1gal of water whenever it feels light and dry, going in circles around plant outwards. Also had light being too close at some points I believe. Tent size 32x32x63inches. Temp and humidity gets no higher than 78F and 71RH. Typically RH low 60’s. Light defoliation so far for anything that was really yellowed and dead. Only a couple leafs. Yesterday morning I fed with 1/4 cup CoM Stonington Blend Food and 1 cup of CoM Earthworm Castings and a little shy of a gallon of water. Also just added the trellis net yesterday. No other training done yet besides spreading canopy. I have sticky fly traps setup through, including one in fabric pot top layer

Skull Island F2 Auto

The Skull Island F2 was the first autoflowering strain that Dirty Bird bred, first harvested a year ago this May, that had the wow factor we were looking for in an auto. It became the first official project on our docket to work forward and lock in. While we are still hard at work on this project, finishing our F3s at the time of this release, we thought it would be fun, and potentially even helpful, to let some of these F2s out into the wild for people to try out.

The very first notes I took on this strain read: “Banana daddy x strawberry gorilla is INCREDIBLE. Huge yields, high density, and insane sharp spicy banana smell across the board. Terps range from licorice to pine to banana.”

Ben was excited about the Skull Island too, sure that it had the potential we’d been hunting for.

F2s are notoriously the most diverse filial generation. You will find more divergence here than in any other generation. If you’re looking for a strain where every plant looks identical, this probably isn’t the best choice. But if you’re looking for surprises, this is a great choice.

Overall, the Skull Island’s flower shape was quite consistent. Almost all of the plants had large, conical buds that came to a peak at the top with a fat circumference around the middle. We observed a couple of plants (around 15%) that had dome-shaped flowers. Some flowers wanted to stack along the central cola more than others. The taller plants—which were in the minority, by far—didn’t stack as well as the shorter, stout plants did. All of the plants yielded well and formed chunky colas. Density did vary a bit. While none of the flowers were fluffy, they ranged from rock hard to spongy at harvest. Consistent density is something we are actively selecting for. All of the plants had thick, self-supporting stalks and medium internodal spacing. Some formed very bulbous bracts (aka calyxes) that looked like clusters of ripe pomegranate seeds, while others had a much more compact, highly dense structure. Our very favorite plant was one that had very dense flower and a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. Even live on the plant, it appeared to have the kind of flower that crumbles to dust between your fingers when you break it apart. The Skull Island F2 was incredibly greasy, so much so that we had to change our gloves while harvesting them.

Lastly, we have the terpenes! The terpenes were one of the things that really drew us to this cross. They are so complex, and they are consistently pungent from plant-to-plant. While there was a lot of variance in terpenes, they were all a part of the spicy, sour/chem, gas family and they leaned dark and savory. Some individual plant observations included:

Spicy Licorice, Peppery Gas

Grape, Fuel, Candy

Sharp Rubber, Putrid Gas

Bright, Funky Chem, Pine

Sweet + Sour Banana

We you hope you enjoy hunting these, and stay tuned for a more refined version of the Skull Island in the near future!

Oil Storm ❄️🥶

Currently trimming up my frosty Oil Storm I showed you guys not long ago. And boy is she soooo frosty. Good Lord. Smells of peanut butter and gasoline 😍🥦💚

This has to be the best looking bud I've ever grown so far. Forgot to save a cutting so I lost this lottery genetics unfortunately. But if Oil Storm stays around I gotta pickup some soon.

Thanks for looking y'all

S3x Melon #3 x Chocolate Pie

Gorgeous S3x Melon when it was pregnant with the Choc Pie pollen! Very tropical Terp profile with some apple in there that comes through from the brunch. The Choc Pie has a grape terp profile so it should make for an fun mashup. We are testing it now ourselves.
