There has to be a way to get rid of this awful CEO. Between Eclipse, DreamUp, the flood of AI-generated content, forcing people to create accounts just to view galleries, and then lying about the site’s growth because of those AI users… it’s infuriating.

This guy, his team, and Wix are going to destroy the platform. I don’t want to give up on it. I have so many great memories tied to it. I really miss Spyed, man... DeviantArt was never perfect, but it felt real. It had a genuine, thriving community and not this hollow, “dead internet” version we’re stuck with now.

i sent an email trying to get my account back from 14 years ago, an account i made when i was 8 and despite saying that i dont remember the email in the form i was told by support that i didnt fill out the required information to start the review process. since i dont remember what email was used and no longer have access to it, does this mean i lost my account forever?

As I understand it, AI-generated stuff is not copyrightable. Plus, there are sites that re-share "paid" stuff from DeviantArt. So I'm wondering if paywalling anything make sense.

I’ve been trying to access DeviantArt, but the site just won’t load for me. I’ve already tried using a VPN as well, but still no luck.This has actually been happening for the past 3–4 months now .Is anyone else facing this issue right now, or is it just on my end? If you’ve had this before, how did you fix it?

Hello all, I made a post on DA's last announcement concerning the Upload of Submissions.

The gist of the post is:

Limit Submissions/Uploads

It was mainly a joke suggestion, but I have a high suspicion that this will be done anyway, even if I said nothing.

The reasons are solid and justified (Based on Deviantart's lastest claims)

- AI submissions are through the roof. Submissions from some AI users have been reported to exceed 40k! This, in turn, manipulates the algorithm and creates an unfair advantage towards them.
- The server strain. Unfortunately as of right now, and for the forseeable future, resources are limited in terms of memory. Data centers demands for memory are at an all time high and skyrocketing, meaning costs of new memory and maintenance will skyrocket as well. As long as more and more art is uploaded, more and more memory will be demanded.
- Its just good for money. Limiting Uploads to a certain number for free and core users, like with downloads, will help reduce the above. For premium users, limiting it is also good to avoid the above as well, but less limit.

Probably will follow suit of 10 uploads a week per free deviant, and 150 uploads a week for premium.

If and when this does happen, the website will face its final month, and disappear forever...

What are your thoughts? Also, what are some hobbyist alternatives to DA (literature, art, video, etc)? And some professional alternatives? What about for people just starting their journey?
