Hey team!
My family and I are going to be doing the North Coast 500 soon round Scotland in our beautiful 2009 Defender Puma, Lara.
Trip of a lifetime.
Well that’s assuming both catastrophic happens between now and then…..
I’ve had it fully serviced.
New brakes. (Pads and callipers)
New fluids. (Oil, transmission fluid, transfer case oil, axle/diff oil)
New rear half shafts and flanges.
New wheel bearing kit
New all sorts in prep but with a couple of weeks to go I have a horrible new noise.
I would LOVE anyone’s advice to help track down and rectify this. She’s going into the garage for a dripping power steering box and that’s my opportunity to have them fix whatever is making this noise too.
Could it be the prop shaft?
The weird thing is how intermittent it is. Did this for 10 mins today out of a 40 minute drive.
I can’t seem to replicate it. Bump road. Not bumpy road. Under power. Not. Any gear. Slow. Fast.
I have owned multiple Discos 1 and 2 and plan to buy a Defender 90 with off road capability . I am looking at several of the above choices . The mileage is similar but of course there is about a $15-$20 thousand dollar difference in cost . I do want a 90 not 110 and a rear locker or off road package is important . Any thoughts ? I live in Arizona
Looking at upgrading my evoque to the defender 130 just due to size. I know in the RR sports and the full sized vehicles they’re experiencing a brake issue with wear and tear at sometimes 7k miles… while I don’t drive more than 10k a year that’s a bit ridiculous. Is there a fix? For reference I am still on the factory brakes and just rolled over to 50k miles so I don’t drive a whole lot but replacing brakes every 7-10k miles doesn’t seem reasonable. Anyone have experience, thoughts, or opinions?
