Dave Chappelle: "F*ck Bill Maher. I’m so tired of his little smug, cracker-ass commentary… These motherf*ckers act like because I did a comedy festival in Saudi Arabia I betrayed my principles."

Dave Chappelle on how Trump is doing as president: “You’re joking right? ...The presidency is no place for a petty person. Being a president seems like an opportunity to be a very unifying force and I feel like perhaps he’s squandered that opportunity, to put it lightly”

Ro Nita: Dave Chappelle is right—wealthy people should invest in media, but ONLY if they’re willing to let go of the steering wheel. 🏛️📉

On the latest Raised by Her, Ro Nita breaks down Chappelle’s NPR interview with Michelle Martin. She points out the "Hot Take" buried in the conversation: Chappelle argues that we actually have no control in the current media landscape, and his investment in WYSO is a way to reclaim freedom, not power. 📉🚫

Ro Nita reveals that Chappelle’s goal is "beneficial long-term for the future," rather than trying to fix today's political mess. She demonstrates that the station was in desperate need, and by stepping in, he’s protecting a platform where voices aren't filtered through a corporate lens. 🏛️⚖️

Is Chappelle’s "hands-off" investment model the only way to save local journalism, or is it naive to think big money doesn't always come with strings?

Why would you even to take a picture with Lauren Boebert in the first place?

After Chappelle's recent attempt to rewrite history by pretending like he was totally unaware of the impact his transphobic jokes were having (while also refusing to apologize for said impact), I was left thinking a lot of things... Why are pretending like the recent backlash is racially motivated when most of the comedians involved are white? Why were you on tour just a few months ago telling a joke about killing a trans person in the middle east (and that's why he likes the middle east ;)? Why did you bring Musk on stage a couple of years ago, and then get mad when he was booed? Why have basically been completely silent when it comes to the current administration's insanity?

But the main thing I have to wonder is, why would you ever pose for a picture with a conservative/bigoted POS like Lauren Boebert in the first place??? It seems like that one would be immensely easy to avoid... And if said caption really did make you so mad David, why are you waiting until now to say anything about it?!?

The MAGA gravey train is coming to an end, and everyone is trying to pretend like their hands are clean 🤣

When you mock 1% of the population relentlessly, the general public won't find it hard to believe that your beliefs align with the powers that be. Dave Chappelle is confused as to why the weaponization of his image was so successful, but refuses to take accountability for his last 6 yrs of "comedy".
