Rising Tungsten Prices

Anyone else getting genuinely fed up with how expensive darts are getting?

I know it is not just brands randomly whacking prices up for the sake of it. Tungsten prices have gone mad over the last year or so, mainly because of tighter supply, China export controls and demand from other industries. Considering most decent darts are 80–95% tungsten, it was always going to filter through eventually.

But still… it is frustrating.

Darts used to feel like one of the more affordable sports to get into. You could grab a decent set, a board, some stems and flights without feeling like you were making a serious investment. Now some sets are creeping into “do I actually need these?” territory, especially if you are a casual player, a beginner, or someone who just likes trying different barrels.

It is a shame because the sport is booming and loads of new people are getting involved, but the cost of proper tungsten darts makes it feel a bit less accessible than it used to be.

I have been trying to shop around a bit more rather than just paying full price straight away. For anyone else in the UK looking, ArrowHeadz have 20% off everything from Winmau and Red Dragon at the moment on https://arrowheadz.co.uk/collections/products-on-sale, which helps take the sting out a bit. Not pretending discounts solve the wider issue, but with tungsten prices the way they are, any saving on decent darts/accessories is welcome.

Hopefully prices settle at some point, because darts should not become one of those hobbies where beginners feel priced out before they have even found a set that suits their throw.

Who is the favorite at the International Darts Open 2026?

Hi everyone,

I am excited for the International Darts Open to start in Riesa, Germany. I was wondering who everyone's favorite is?

Here is my pick:

  1. Luke Humphries: The last two weeks have been incredible for him. Winning the Premier League 15 and then the Players Championship with crazy high averages. That should make him the favorite.
  2. Gerwyn Price: He has won this tournament 4 times. He actually has won lots of trophies in Germany. If anyone can beat Humphries in Riesa then it should be Price in my opinion.
  3. Wessel Nijman - the Dark Horse? Nijman has been playing so well on the European Tour. Would love to see him winning another European trophy.

But really anything can happen at the European Tour. I would not be surprised if my pick is totally wrong :-D

Some mad genius engineered this.

This venue rocks soft-top and steel, depending on the mood I guess. In the states, 8% of all dart venues have both types.

First 180!!!

YESS! It finally happened!!! Started playing last December around the World Championships and fell in love with the game! After 7 or so 140s before this, it really felt like it wasn’t going to happen! Last dart (top one) barely snuck in there and honestly from afar looked like it just landed right above the treble! Boy was I stoked to see the result from up close! First and hardest out the way - looking forward to hitting more!

Is it pure luck?

My firend has played darts for about a month, doesn't really practice (maybe 20 mins every other day) or play any online matches. He's claiming to have hit 3 180's in the last 3 days , 2 one day and 1 the third night.

For someone saying he grouping is amazing his k-flex looks brand new out the box for the time hes been playing. Can this be pure luck or could this be bullshit?

Would like to get some opinion on other players to see what people think

Its has finally been released!!!

Hi all,

Firstly i would like to say thank you to the people who helped test this app for me, it was a great help.

For those of you who dont know, I have made a darts game for me and my mates called Crazy Horses — basically a horse racing game using dart scores 🏇😂

We’ve been playing it down our rugby club and it’s actually turned out really fun (and competitive…)

Its something different to a standard game of darts and it’s actually a good laugh (especially after a few beers 😂)

Thought I’d share it here in case anyone else fancies trying something different on darts night 👍

Would love any feedback.

We both had thrown 33 darts.

I missed double 8.

He quit.

Normal to have to pay to use dart boards?

Hello,

Wanted to get more into darts, my dad was into league play and I've been enjoying the game. I went to a local bar that specializes in billiards and darts, both of which cost money to use (even if you bring your own darts). My dad says this was not normal but may have changed with the times. My gut tells me it's not normal still. Do places tend to charge you to pay?

Look at this board!

Had a few cans in me last night and took minute to realize, taping your board to the wall is a new one for me. Hahaha. Made me laugh!
