Hello everyone! I’m currently in the market for a bike I am 6’3 230lbs. I found a 2000 drz400 S for $1,700. From the sound of it, it has been meticulously maintained and left completely stock. 23k miles and comes with the stock set of tires with only 1,200 miles on them.
What kind of issues should I look for on a 26 year old bike. Common issues etc?
I ordered the only exhaust I found in the EU that is advertised as EU5 compliant and road legal. Unfortunately it turned out to be super loud (it has a non-removable db-killer), there is no way it would pass any roadside noise test. Otherwise the product is nice, fits perfectly, the heat shield plastic part cannot be installed together, but the exhaust doesn't get too hot. The pipe diameter is increased from 39 mm to 45 mm (basically the max achievable with the factory manifold). Weight is 3.4 kg compared to the original's 6 kg. Installation is simple, only a few screws.

El dia de hoy desensable mi motor ya que comenzó a tirar humo azul y a consumir aceite y me percate que el cilindro y el piston tenian estos pequeños puntos, si paso un dedo o una uña son completamente imperceptibles, que podrá ser? Y si tengo que cambiar mi cilindro. 🤔
