Even when the subject of Jean comes up, Emma doesn’t throw a fit over it and I love that Scott acknowledges that. Just another classic example of how they pushed each other to deal with their issues and insecurities while reaffirming their commitment to each other. I really miss their ability to communicate and respect each other even when they disagree. The current comics (looking at you, United) could really use a reminder of their near decade long relationship.

This line makes the accusations from haters that Emma “deceived” Scott, “abused her power,” or “assaulted” him even more absurd. Scott directly asks whether this is still telepathic therapy or some kind of weird affair, and Emma does not deny that it has crossed the line. She does not say, “No, Scott, this is still "telepathic therapy".” Instead, she openly frames what they are doing as “playing with fire” — something dangerous, forbidden, and mutual. And Scott agrees to continue.

Not to mention that their first “session” was in New X-Men #128. Emma did not mention any sexology qualification there. She only mentioned it later in passing in #131. She was not officially working as Scott’s therapist; she simply had a qualification. Having a qualification is not the same thing as being someone’s official therapist with a professional agreement and all the rules that come with it.

So no, Emma did not trick Scott into thinking this was still therapy, and she did not force him. Scott knew he was cheating Jean and still chose to continue. The story frames it as an emotional affair, not coercion.

Especially cause it was a choice to handle her like they did in S1. Show's name is 97, prequel came out in 92, she's still in her 80s characterization as even her 2000s stories got butchered for parts.

Like we're going into Age of Apocalypse, and in comics she was in it with her redemption book that she led and that by 97 was on issue 50. All because DeMayo was a weirdo boasting about his fanfics where Emma gets killed by Jean 💀

Emma Frost/Scemma fans are toxic, need moderating, ruin every thread. Meanwhile the people making those cases will invoke misogyny, sexism, ableism, apparentely even zionism for internet points. Genuinely parasocial, genuinely disconnected from reality, currently running places like the main sub on virtue signaling alone. Screw them.
