Is there a reason why, when cufflinks are worn, the cuff on the shirt is sandwiched together, causing an unsightly edge, rather than flapped over itself like on a cuff with buttons? This is the main reason I never wear cufflinks.
Then I saw this image on the Cartier website showing them being worn in the way I am suggesting… Are both ways acceptable?

These were an import good (most likely Japan) from between the 1950-80s. The front is detailed scene of a pagoda in winter. This style was pretty popular at the time and I’ve seen a bunch of similar variants by various makers.

A set of opal and Sterling Cufflinks I grabbed a number of years ago. Love the 1930s styling.

MoP Sterling Button Cufflinks

Picked these up recently. Mother of petal on the top, Sterling bottoms. Looks like the based the off of the Tiffany design but not Tiffany.
