If crypto is "the future of money," why do most people still immediately convert gains to USD?

I've been in this space for a few years and I keep noticing a contradiction no one talks about.

Every week there's a post about how fiat is dying, banks are obsolete, and crypto is the inevitable global currency. But then someone hits a 10x and the first thing they do is cash out to dollars. Not buy a house with BTC. Not pay their bills in ETH. Cash out. To the thing we keep saying is broken.

Is crypto actually a currency to most people, or is it just a dollar-denominated speculation game with extra steps?

Not trying to FUD. I hold crypto. Just genuinely curious how others think about this.

Trying Crypto Trading Again. What Trends Are Worth Watching?

I’ve been getting back into crypto trading recently after stepping away for a while, and one thing I’m noticing is how fast market narratives shift every month.

Right now I’m paying closer attention to AI related tokens, real world asset projects, and how Bitcoin dominance is affecting altcoin momentum.

I’m also trying to stay more disciplined with risk management this time instead of chasing every breakout.

Curious what everyone here is actually watching this month.

Are you focusing on meme coins, utility projects, DeFi, AI, Layer 2s, or just waiting for better entries?

Would be good to hear what trends people think still have room to grow and which ones already feel overcrowded.
