Congrats to all those who got in for this year’s cohort! I intend on applying for next year’s, but I just read that students with a 3.87 GPA are getting rejected. Starting to feel discouraged since I can’t do anything to bring up my GPA and might not be good enough for next year. Should I start looking elsewhere? Anyone else on the same boat as well?

EDIT; So it seems that some people confuse their prereq GPA and cumulative GPA which makes it a little harder to gauge what the acceptance threshold is for this year’s cohort. Regardless, I just want to know if other students are planning to apply elsewhere at the same time as the Fall 2027 cohort applications.

Hi,

It’s been two weeks since they sent out the decision letters and I am getting more anxious day by day. Did anyone receive anything regarding the application today if they got accepted or rejected

Transfer student vs City Tech prereqs for radiology program?

Does the radiology program at city tech prioritize applicants who completed prereqs at City Tech over transfer students when GPAs are similar?

I’m deciding where to take summer classes right now and wanted to know if taking prereqs at City Tech gives any advantage during admissions.

Just got rejected, for people trying to get an understanding of what the conditions are this year, got an A for all pre req classes except for an AP credit with a 4 for Calc years ago from hs. Transfer with 4.0 cumulative gpa so I guess they’re rejecting anyone who doesn’t have 3.9s this year. Frustrating because no one has answers to how exactly AP scores translate, especially considering calc is 1475 compared to the 1275 needed for the program. That said there is just too much competition this year, for those thinking of applying, the town hall sessions are helpful and definitely schedule advisement. They might be taking a while during application period but should be faster after. Good luck to anyone still waiting for a response.

Hi, I’ve been seeing a lot of people have been rejected these past few days. Are there still people waiting to hear back from the department?

Dental Hygiene

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get into the Fall Dental Hygiene program at CityTech and I applied for the day program. I wanted to ask current students how they’re managing tuition and work while in the program.

I never qualify for financial aid because my income is considered too high. Are most students taking out loans or using scholarships? If so, which ones?

I know the program is very intense, but I would still like to work at least part-time if possible. If anyone is currently working while in the program, what kind of job or schedule are you doing?

Any advice would really help. Thank you!

Switching majors

I saw that you come into the school as undeclared health majors, what major do you have to be to apply for the nursing program? Do i have to be undeclared health or is another major fine?
Also does anyone know how retaking a course works? I have a B in english so im not sure if i need department permission or if i can just retake it, and if they will average my grade.

Im still trying to figure out how to talk to an advisor for nursing specifically which is why im asking this here.

Just wondering if its possible to apply to multiple rad tech programs while being enrolled in one of the CUNYs. Would that be possible? or would I have to be enrolled in the school THEN apply to their rad tech program?

Basically say I'm enrolled in City Tech and applying for their Rad Tech program, would I be able to apply to Hostos and Laguardia Rad Tech Programs at the same time in case I don't get into City Tech's?

Just making sure I have a backup plan for the future in case I don't get in to one!

Is anyone else still waiting to hear on their acceptance? I’m getting discouraged & thinking I didn’t get accepted into the program. I haven’t gotten a rejection letter but still. When is the next batch supposed to be sent out?

Hi , i recently just commited to this school for the upcoming fall semester for the rad tech program. However ive been seeing lots of ygs not getting in w 4.0s and mostly a's which has been discouraging me ALOT! im not really the smartest person so this definetley is gonna not work out well for me and im usually a person who gives up easily but still has a passion for the medical field. Ive been really interested lately in the BIOMEDICAL INFORMATICS major in this school and i was wondering if this is a good switch up for a person like me , and if anyone has previously done or is currently in this major as we speak. i would love some advice on what my next step should be before the first day and just what to expect w this major overall. thank you!!

I am still in high school with a 4.0 gpa and I don’t want to be in a lot of student debt after graduating so I am considering City tech and Hostos. However, I am worried that because both of these schools have insanely low graduation rates the teachers are bad… I know City Tech’s social environment isn’t great but I honestly couldn’t really care and I don’t know much about Hostos. Can I get some tips? Is it easier to get in the Dental Hygiene program if I attend that school for my pre reqs? City tech is my main choice right now so how is the school honestly.

Hello! I’m trying to get in the rad tech program and I checked the FAQ and it says RAD 1124 cannot be retaken unless a student received a D or F (or has department permission). I got a B- in the course (above the minimum C requirement) and all of my other prereq courses are A’s, and I’m expecting A’s in my remaining ones, but even so my estimated prereq GPA is around a 3.7. I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to retake RAD 1124 in a similar situation or received permission to do so, and also whether I should be worried about the B- significantly affecting my chances in admissions.
