Do CU students get lab access at night during hackathons? (Incoming CSE student)

Hey everyone, I'm taking admission in CSE at Chandigarh University this year and trying to decide between hostel and day scholar.

I live in Patiala (~70 km away) so commuting is rough, but my parents are on the fence about hostel.

A few things I want to know from current CSE students:

1. During hackathons or coding competitions, are students allowed to stay in labs late at night (past 10 PM or even overnight)? Or does hostel curfew make it impossible?

2. What are the usual college timings for CSE? Like earliest class and how late do labs/practicals generally go?

3. Is the hackathon culture at CU active enough that it actually matters for hostel vs day scholar decision?

I'm looking forward to form a team to work on projects and hackathons

Now that first year is over and I just want to meet people who are interested in hackathons

Do not worry if you don't know much, because even idk much , I'm learning python, so let's chat here!!

I have taken the cucet exam and have given the 10000 seat registration fee too but class 12th result hasn't come yet so I think I'll score more than 75 percent but in the worst case scenario if I score less than 70 percent or 60 percent then will they cut off my seat and give me a refund or will they give me admission even under 70 or 60 percent

Basics - I’ve studied my a off till 12th now idc about the academics as long as I have a 7+ cgpa ,I just wanna enjoy the college life to the fullest. I also don’t give a damn about the placements as I’ll be doing masters afterwards.

Now ik cu isn’t the best choice for it as 75% attendance is must and management but its a better shot than anywhere near me hometown or my second priority that is Dehradun.

I have already enrolled into the programme. I am a filmmaker from the past 4 years and I’m running fully stacked creative agency in Chandigarh. Just doing this degree for the sake of a degree, but really worried about the 75% attendance criteria since I would be wanting to go out and book clients rather than coming to college, but yeah, I mean is it any worth it and what about the faculty there.

Faculty of CU are so fucking unfair and retarded I idk how they got fucking hired to teach. There is so much fucking favoritism in this fucking hell of a college. Dude my dsa teacher she doesn't fucking know anything she just teaches form fucking chat gpt and acts like she is fucking linus torvalds, she is the worst teacher in the entire ef-4 like she just gave me less marks in practicals because she caught me laughing in her class, form then she does strict marking, asks me fucking tough questions in viva just for me to score less....dude like she asks easy questions from other like I haven't done anything wrong I score really good marks in mst and also I have done all the work she had asked but still she had the fucking ick to just give me less marks because I was laughing in her class she is not fair dude she gave like 29 or 29.5 to students who were like punjabi she is so much fucking biased dude I have seen in cu like teachers give you much more marks then others if you are form punjab like dude how is this fair dude someone in the management should be fucking told about this shit
