I’m trying to locate any archived newspaper articles, public reports, broadcasts, or other historical information related to the death of Jerry Lee Griest in North East, Maryland on December 31, 1993.

The death was reportedly investigated as a fatal hit-and-run, but very little information appears to still exist online today outside of scattered references and brief archive mentions.

So far, I’ve only been able to locate:

a brief newspaper archive reference from January 1, 1994

obituary/memorial information

and community recollections from people who lived in the area at the time

I’m especially hoping to find:

newspaper articles

TV news coverage

police press releases

archived broadcasts

public records references

or any historical discussion of the case from the 1990s

The incident reportedly occurred near North East/Elkton, Maryland.

If anyone has suggestions for archives, databases, local history resources, or ways to locate older regional reporting, I would greatly appreciate the help.

I've been up and down the eastern seaboard and some into the middle of the country, my god what the actual hell is wrong with cecil county drivers? I know everyone says their state has the worst, but I've never been anywhere quite this bad.

Why do people here look at oncoming traffic when theyre going to turn right instead of traffic going in their direction like some ones about to swerve out of their lane and slam into their front end?

Why the actual hell do they take 4-way intersections as an invitation to change lanes MID INTERSECTION! I occasionally go to the chic-fil-a on 40 and my God the number of times I've had to lay on my horn or straight slam my breaks because some idiot decided they wanted to be on the left lane is insane! Its a coinflip if theyre going to stick to their lane or swerve into yours! I genuinely am starting to think they don't realize the other lane is a left turn or straight away!

What's with almost everyone treating stop signs like theyre no there these last few weeks? I almost t-boned some dude speeding through Thomson because they whipped the turn through a stoplight without even pretending to slow down. Its gotten so bad Im almost to the point of treating all intersections as 3-way stops! And for some reason its almost always old people???

Man if I had the cash I'd be setting up a repair shop this year with how bad its gotten.
