Possibly that could be one of the reasons she now takes the exterminations so seriously. Maybe she lost a lover from one of those exterminatios years ago, now causing her to have a new hatred towards it and having a much higher guard to protect what she has left.

She gives me the vibes of a mother who is amazing at cooking and make wonderful and delicious meals for her daughters.
I like to imagine she tries teaching them how to cook, passing her skills down onto them.
