Owning 1 share of Taj Hotels can give big discounts

Most underrated “membership” for Indian travelers: owning a single share of Indian Hotels (IHCL).

Here is what the shareholder perk looks like right now:

•	Discount: 25% off on stays, dining and spa at Taj, Vivanta and Ginger.

•	Cap: Up to ₹2,500 off per bill, 10 dining coupons a year, 1 stay coupon. So roughly ₹25,000 maximum annual benefit if you fully use them.

•	Coverage: Valid across 100+ properties under Taj, Vivanta and Ginger in India.

•	Minimum: Even 1 share of IHCL is enough to qualify.

Example: If a Taj stay costs ₹10,000, after the 25% shareholder discount you pay ₹7,500.

Multiple family members can get 1 share each in case more coupons are required.

Has anyone used this or something similar?

Don't close your Swiggy HDFC Card! It's an absolute beast, especially if it's LTF 🚀

I just bought the Urban Company Native M2 Pro on Flipkart. I stacked a ₹1,750 HDFC bank discount with the card’s 5% cashback (₹833). Getting a premium smart RO for an effective price of \~₹15.6k with zero annual fees is a massive win.

Most people forget this card gives 5% back on Amazon and Flipkart, not just Swiggy. If you have it as LTF, definitely keep it for these big-ticket online purchases!

Sharing below a tried and tested trick to get 10% cashback on Amazon Pay GCs - quite useful for paying bills etc.

How the trick works:

Instead of buying on Amazon directly, you go to the Zepto app and buy a Physical Amazon Pay Gift Card.

  1. Zepto Discount: Sometimes, Zepto gives some extra discount depending on the zip code.
  2. Card Cashback: Use a card that gives 10% back on groceries (since Zepto is counted as a grocery store), you get ₹1000 back.

Top Cards Rewards Table:

Credit Card Name Card Reward Application Link
HSBC Live+ 10% Apply Now
Equitas Selfie 10% Apply Now
SBI Cashback 5% Apply Now

Apply links for these cards:

Steps to follow:

  • Search for "Amazon Pay Physical Gift Card" on Zepto.
  • Pick the ₹10,000 one as it usually has the best margin.
  • Important: Before you put the OTP, check the SMS from your bank. The merchant name should be Zepto Mark / Marketplace. This ensures the bank sees it as a "Grocery" spend so you get the full reward.
  • Once the physical card is delivered to your house, just scan or add the code to your Amazon Pay wallet.

Share in comments once this works for you! Also, comment any other card which you feel is beneficial here.

Multiple people have reportedly converted their FYF cards to LTF.

Steps to convert your card to LTF:

1️⃣ Show some usage of the card (multiple transaction helps).

2️⃣ Email HDFC's Card Services Team with your spending and account details.

3️⃣ Be persistent and follow up if needed.

Helps in saving unnecessary fees.

Has anyone else tried / planning to try this?

How to get GOLD coin using your Tata Neu Card!

Most of us get cashback and just use it to pay for more groceries or small bills. But there is a better way. You can trade your NeuCoins for Physical Tanishq Gold Coins at a 1:1 rate (1 NeuCoin = ₹1).

How to earn the Gold quickly

If you use the Tata Neu app for your regular monthly shopping (around ₹10,000+), you can easily collect ₹1,000+ worth of NeuCoins every single month using the Neu Card (currently no joining fees).

I recently got a 0.5g Tanishq Gold Coin (priced at ₹6,990) just by redeeming points I earned from my regular BigBasket and Zomato spends through Tata Neu Infinity card.

Spend Category Cashback
BigBasket, Croma, 1mg, Air India, Tata CLiQ, Taj Hotels 10% Back
Insurance & Utility Bills (Electricity, Gas, etc.) 5% Back
Any UPI payment (using Tata Neu UPI ID) 1.5% Back
Joining Bonus (on your first transaction) 1,499 Coins

How to redeem

The redemption button is a bit hard to find, so follow these steps:

  1. Open the Tata Neu or Tanishq app.
  2. Go to the Jewellery section and select Gold Coins.
  3. Add the coin to your cart and proceed to the payment page.
  4. Important: Under the payment options, click on Gift Cards and Vouchers, then select Coupons and Vouchers.
  5. Look for Loyalty Redemption, this is where you enter your NeuCoins to pay for the gold.

It’s a great way to turn your everyday expenses into a real asset.

How to skip Airport Immigration Queue and pass in 20 secs!

Just got back from Thailand trip. We walked through e-gates and were done in seconds vs the previous experience of 45 mins wait.

We registered for FTI-TTP (Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Traveller Program) a couple weeks before the trip. It's for Indian citizens/OCI with clean records. Here's how:

Registration Steps

  1. Visit official site: http://ftittp.mha.gov.in
  2. Click register, fill in name, passport details, contact info. Passport needs 6+ months validity.
  3. Upload your passport photo + scans of first and last pages (plus any other docs they ask).
  4. Verify with OTP on phone and email. Get confirmation right away.
  5. Schedule biometrics – fingerprints and face scan.
    • Easiest: FRRO office in your city
    • Or next time you're at a participating airport on departure

Approval came through in a week. Once approved, it's valid up to 10 years or passport expiry.

How It Works at the Airport

After check-in (departure or arrival):

  • Find e-gates next to normal immigration counters (Delhi T3 has them).
  • Scan passport + boarding pass on first machine.
  • Biometrics on the next (face/fingerprint).
  • Green light, barrier opens, you're through. No talking to officers.

Anyone else using this? Which airports have the smoothest e-gates?

Fuels expenses can add up to quite a lot and credit cards can offer decent savings.

I personally use the ICICI HPCL one but still not convinced with it.

Card upgrade option for beginners

Hi everyone,

Looking for advice on optimizing my credit card setup and figuring out what card I should get next.

Profile:
- Annual income: ~₹12L
- Salary account: ICICI
- Current card: HDFC Millennia
- CIBIL usually around 750–780
- Current credit limit: ₹1.5L
- Never missed payments, always pay in full

Spending pattern:
- Mostly offline spends
- Dining/eating out: ~₹5–7k/month
- UPI spends: ~₹12k/month (mostly snacks, small purchases, daily expenses via GPay)
- Online shopping is not super high
- Flights/hotels maybe 1–2 times a year
- Hopefully 1 international trip/year, but not guaranteed since I’m part of a startup and taking long leaves is difficult

One thing I’ve noticed is my CIBIL sometimes dips because of high utilization during larger spends. Example: while planning a Europe trip this July, I spent around ₹1.2L on my card. But I always repay fully within the billing cycle.

I did try asking HDFC for Regalia Gold as an upgrade from Millennia, but no luck so far, so now I’m looking at other options as well.

Cards I’m currently considering:
- HDFC Regalia Gold
- HSBC TravelOne
- Axis Horizon

What I’m looking for:
- Better rewards/points than Millennia
- Good cashback or reward conversion value
- Useful real-world benefits, not gimmicks
- Lounge access is nice but not top priority
- Something that actually suits my spend pattern instead of aspirational ultra-premium cards

Questions:

  1. Should I stay cashback-focused or move toward travel cards?
  2. Which of these cards actually makes sense for my spend pattern?
  3. Is Regalia Gold worth it for someone who doesn’t travel very frequently?
  4. Is HSBC TravelOne overkill for my current spending/travel frequency?
  5. Would getting another card mainly for higher overall limit/utilization improvement be smarter right now?
  6. Any good card combos for offline + UPI-heavy users without overcomplicating things?

Would appreciate advice from people with similar spending habits rather than ultra-premium travel setups 😅

SBI Flipkart Card gave only 1% cashback on Myntra BlinkDeal6 purchase instead of 7.5%

During the BlinkDeal6 sale on Myntra (April 11th and 12th, 2026) I made purchases totaling 46,482rs using my SBI Flipkart Credit Card.

As per the card benefits, Myntra transactions are supposed to get 7.5% cashback. But after my May 1 statement got generated, I received only ₹465 cashback (~1%).

I contacted SBI Card customer care, and the agent said cashback depends on the MCC (Merchant Category Code). The MCC for my transaction is 5699 “Apparel and Accessory Shops - Miscellaneous” which is not excluded from the eligible cashback categories.

What’s confusing is:

Transaction was directly on Myntra
MCC seems valid
Offer should have been eligible
But cashback posted only as regular 1%

One thing to note: I used the “Scan & Pay” payment method inside Myntra during the sale. Not sure if that changed the MCC routing or cashback eligibility internally.

Wanted to check:

Has anyone else used SBI Flipkart Card via Scan & Pay on Myntra?
Did you receive full 7.5% cashback or only 1%?
Any idea if Scan & Pay transactions are being treated differently?

Looking for advice on a good first credit card in India.

I’m a fairly conservative spender and mainly want a credit card to start building a solid credit score because I’m planning to apply for a home loan in about a year.

My spending is moderate and mostly online:

- Amazon

- Zomato

- Blinkit

- Myntra occasionally

- Train ticket bookings

- Bus bookings on RedBus about once a month

I don’t travel much, don’t care about lounge access, and I’m not looking to maximize rewards aggressively. My priority is:

  1. Easy approval for a first card

  2. Low fees / easy to manage

  3. Helps build credit history properly

  4. Some decent cashback on regular online spending would be nice

I’ll always pay bills on time and probably won’t use more than 20–30% of the limit.

What cards would you recommend for someone in this situation?

Hey Everyone,

Traveling to Vietnam soon (Ho Chi Minh / Da Nang / Hanoi). It's me, my partner, and our 6-year-old kid. I'm trying to map out the best way to handle lounge access for the three of us, but I'm getting a bit lost in the T&Cs and network rules. I could really use some advice!

Here are the cards I currently have:

  • HDFC Tata Neu Infinity (RuPay, no add-on)
  • IDFC Wealth Debit Cards (Both of us have separate accounts and our own cards)
  • IndusInd Pinnacle Credit Card (Main + add-on card, along with two Priority Pass cards)
  • Federal Celesta (Mastercard, no add-on)
  • HDFC Diners Club Privilege (No add-on)

My main worries/questions:

  1. Multiple Lounge Networks: I’m a bit worried about the fragmentation of the networks (Priority Pass vs. LoungeKey vs. Diners Club). Obviously, we cannot go to separate lounges LOL. Are there specific lounges in SGN / DAD / HAN that accept a good mix of these cards so we can stay together?
  2. The 6-Year-Old Factor: Since we both have enough cards to cover ourselves, getting the kid in is the biggest hurdle. Do lounges in Vietnam (or our outbound Indian airport) allow you to swipe an extra, unused premium card (like the Tata Neu or Federal) for a child, even if the name doesn't match the boarding pass? Or are we better off just paying the walk-in child rate?
  3. Spend Criteria Check: I regularly put my spending on the HDFC DCP, but I hardly touch the others. Are there any recent spend-based criteria for international lounge access on the Tata Neu Infinity, Federal Celesta, or IndusInd Pinnacle that I should be aware of so I don't get declined at the desk?

Any tips, tricks, or specific lounge recommendations for these airports are super welcome! 🙏
(Apologies if this is a repeat query, but card benefits keep changing every minute 🙁 my trip starts tomorrow and I am desperate for up to date info)
