CampEDC Day 0 Check In!
Good morning campers! We are 2 days away from day 0!!! I know many of you are excited and many more probably have questions about camp and check in. For a more thorough list of Q&As you can check out this post from last year. For live time information you can always check out the CampEDC channel on the EDC discord (note: the mod team here and on the r/electricdaisycarnival sub are in no way affiliated with the mod team on the discord)
Shiftpod Check in
- Arrival: you can typically start getting to the turquoise lot around 6:30/7am. You don’t have to get there that early if you don’t want to. People like getting there early for a number of reasons including - getting a pod spot closer to the festival entrance, wanting to haul and set up before the day gets too hot (IT WILL GET VERY HOT), want to explore camp activities before they get too busy, etc.
- To find the proper exit to camp, I usually just plug in this gas station into google maps. Google maps has actually updated a drop pin for CampEDC if you prefer to use that.
- Once you’re let in, you’ll be redirected to a parking spot. Arriving early will not guarantee a spot close to the check in counter/entrance. once you are parked, your car CANNOT leave. well it can but it won't be let back in unless you have another turquoise parking pass.
- Your first step will be to check into your pod. You’ll need your ID and the little card that got shipped to you. It is very important that you register your campmates prior to this to ensure a smooth check in. Each person in your group has to check in to get their wristband. They will not give more than one wristband to one person
- Once you’ve checked in, you can start unpacking your car and hauling things in to the security check point. You dont need to do things in this order but I’ve personally found it to be the most effective.
- Security check will vary depending on the staff. Some can be really thorough and others a lot less. They will make you toss glass or take it back to your car if they find it.
- After the security check, you’ll be free to haul your stuff to your pod. If you have a lot of things please please please consider bringing a cart or wagon. Even if you are there early, the trek is a lot father than it may seem. Take plenty of breaks and stay hydrated. You dont want heat stroke at the very beginning of your weekend
- Trams: CampEDC introduced trams a couple years back. There are separate lines for moonglow and dessert rose. Dessert rose lines are faster. Another perk of getting there early with moonglow is that the lines are not as bad in the morning. The trams wont take you to your exact camp site but rather a tram stop nearby.
RV Check in
- Arrival: RVs are a little different in the sense that they can typically start arriving a lot sooner than pod campers but not too early or else they’ll be turned away. How early is too early? Unknown, as it really depends on the county. Again, you’ll be able to get live updates on when you can line up by following the discord. If I remember correctly, I think people were allowed to start lining up around 4am? I’m sure someone in the comments can confirm.
- Check in: as you start being let in, you’ll eventually get to the check in point. Staff will board your RV and do a “security” check. Similar to pod camping, some of these searches can be super thorough and others not so much. If you look hard enough you can find posts on social media about things security has confiscated from RVs so beware. After this check, you’ll be given your wristbands. Note: they do not care if there are more people in your RV than whats “allowed.” You’ll only be limited by the 8 wristbands that come with RV camping.
- Getting to your spot: you can’t pick your spot so if you plan on camping with a group make sure you enter together (like butt to mouth together) and let the person that’s delegating know you are together.
General tidbits
- Staff at CampEDC are usually hired temp workers meaning they have minimal training on a lot of things. So if you’re trying to camp in something like a uhaul or tesla be prepared for the headache that may come in trying to get the all clear to enter the campgrounds. I remember there was a whole saga where someone wanted to camp with their Tesla (they had an email confirmation that it was allowed) but still had to go through many hoops to get into Camp.
- Insomniac confirmed last year that they are giving security final say on “grey area” items (things that are not explicitly prohibited but not explicitly permitted). If you’re pod camping, just go over to another line (hint: the one thats moving fastest)
- Check in times. Be aware of check in times if you plan on checking in Fri-Sun as they are vastly different from Day 0. If you arrive outside of that check in time, you will not be allowed to check in and you wont be allowed in the camp grounds.
Lastly, I implore you all to be nice to the staff at camp. Something simple as sharing your water or drinks from your cooler will go a long way. If you think insomniac hasn't done much to address shade/accomodation issues for campers then they are doing a lot less for their actual staff. If you truly believe in PLUR, then extend it to those that are working the festival too. To further incentivize you, being thoughtful towards staff and security can sometimes get you small extra perks like getting to choose your own pod spot, security completely ignoring the little pack of prerolls your wife forgot to properly pack, or being let into the pools after they close to get valuables your forgot.
I hope you all have an amazing time! Stay safe, stay hydrated and dance hard!
Prescriptions and RV camping!
I take adderall and I brought my whole bottle with me (a whole month of script) since it’s a controlled substance and I don’t like taking it out of the bottle(especially over state lines) plus our whole trip is like 15 days total. Will RV/medical team give me grief for having more than just for the event?
Is this true ? Dogs help w searching ?
Is it true that security uses dogs to help search rv’s for drugs?
Leaving Camp
So I have never had to leave camp in an uber but this year I wanna leave to go to mass either Saturday or Sunday evening. Is there a certain place to get the uber?
Catch us in camp vendor village. We take walk ups or you can book ahead online
Power station
I have a small Anker power station, and am camping in the shift pods. Are they allowed in? I just want it for instances if the power in our pod goes out. I’ve heard this happens, and I’d rather still have power in case that happens when I need it. Ty!!
Shade tents for rv?
Last year I remember so many people had shade structures next to or infront of their RVs so I got one this year to expand the space for our crew. I double checked the website to make sure it was still allowed. The camp email I just got though says no shade structures, but I still can’t see anything on the camp prohibited items list? Am I blind? I’m not sure what to do tbh, any input is appreciated.
Can’t wait to see yall under the electric Sky!

AZ to LV Gas Price's?
Would anyone possibly have any idea on how much gas would currently cost traveling from AZ to LV? In the past it's been about $170 to $180 a tank. I know for sure that the station in Truth or Consequences is gonna charge out the ass! 🫠
Edit: forgot to mention in an RV!
Speakers for Camp
How strict are they about speakers in the RV? Thinking of buying the JBL party box encore essential 2 and bringing it just for camp vibes.
STEVE AOKI LOOKALIKE CONTEST @ HIYO HOUSE EDC LAS VEGAS
I heard that one of the EDC sponsors (hiyo) is doing a pair of VIP upgrades on Friday night at their Steve Aoki lookalike contest!! I’m showing up with a wig, goatee, and a dream lol
What time are all you RV campers planning on driving in?
I’ve done the fall in line at 4am a couple years ago which was exhausting and last year I went in at 11am on Thursday morning. Going in at 11am was a breeze and we still got a decently close spot so I think I’ll aim for that time again but it makes me curious. What time is everyone else planning on driving in their RV in?
Time to arrive at Camp
Hey guys, what time would be best to arrive at camp? I think arriving in the morning, at 9A or 1P?
Anyone offering Simple Braids? 👱🏼♀️🎀🌼🎡
Hi is anyone doing simple braids like a Dutch braid? I’m not looking to add hair or accessories just 2 basic braids on medium to short hair.
Please let me know 🌼💜🥰 PLUR ☮️
Metal cooking utensils
Hey y'all hope to see a lot of you thursday! This is my first year RV camping and I'm bringing a small Blackstone to cook for my group the only thing I'm worried about is them confiscating my spatula and scraper (both stainless steel) should I be worried or am I good?
Separate Arrival
Here’s my situation. I’m heading to camp via plane and Uber.
My friend is driving. I’m the one with the parking decal. It’s not practical for me to give my decal to my friend because we live far from each other.
Anyway she can grab a copy of the decal like at will call or something? Maybe she would need a photo of my ID?
RV Camping, what street to line up?
I'm seeing some conflicting information online about where to go to line up early Thursday morning (3-4 AM) for RV check in. People say they're going to be parked "on the side of the road". Which road? CampEDC map says to take I-15 and exit on Speedway Blvd. I'm sure there will be signs but my anxiety is nagging at me to know ahead of time where to go next and what to expect. I'm sure you vets could help me out?
What are my gas can chances?
If you had to give me a percentage. What do previous campers think my chances are of getting through check in early with a couple fuel bottles in the back?
