This gap between UG and PG is the only months-long break you will have, after this, for those going into academia, will have to constantly focus on UGC NET, the moment your Masters start.

I understand the anxiety but this is the perfect and probably only time to get a hobby you always keep aside. Go to that holiday you always wanted. Go and read those books you haven't read yet.

Learn swimming, guitar, drawing, etc.

Cause I'll be very honest, do your homework now, check the colleges you want to apply to and see their dates.

And then keep your phone down and go enjoy the world. After this all the responsibilities will be even more serious, you will be more alone.

You may not see many of your friends, family, pets, use this time productively cause it won't come back anymore.

Take this as someone from 1st year Masters, who regrets stressing everyday.

How is AUD for MA political science and MA Public Policy? Is the Political Science course new? What is the placement record of the Public Policy course?

I really need some guidance because I feel completely stuck right now.

I’m a 2024 graduate from Delhi University. After graduating, I took a year to explore what I actually want to do. My main goal has always been to get into a good college with solid placement opportunities.

In 2025, I gave CUET PG (Economics) and got calls from colleges like BHU. But coming from DU, I wasn’t sure if moving there made sense for me, especially considering my focus on placements.

For 2026, I aimed for IIT JAM Economics, but I couldn’t clear it. For CUET PG this year, I played it “safe” based on previous year cutoffs instead of going all out, and now I’m not confident about the outcome.

Right now:

ISI MSQE exam is in ~20 days

I’m unable to focus or figure out what to do

I feel like I wasted time and now don’t have a clear direction

I’m scared of ending up with no good college and no solid career path

I also come from a middle-class background, so I can’t afford to keep experimenting endlessly or take big financial risks.

My main questions:

Should I take a college like BHU this year if I get it, or drop another year?

Is ISI MSQE still realistically achievable in 20 days if I restart seriously?

Should I shift focus completely toward skills/jobs instead of exams now?

How do I get out of this “stuck” phase mentally and practically?

I’m not looking for motivational lines — I really need practical, honest advice from people who’ve been through similar situations.

i was thinking about the crowd which is spilt in two now. the ones who are waiting to download the damn score card and the others who dont want the pressure of seeing the results every day. some people go to bed with a small relief that today was not that day. but one thing is that reality is reality. my scores are hoovering below anticipated range which i set after giving the exam, but i am with full hope and confident that what ever happens in my life is planned by the god himself. it will be for the greater good of mine only. Anyone who is not feeling well, dont worry. The total premeire institute's seats count, its exactly 500 (within cuetpg Economics). definitely not all can get it. if you are in that 500, well and good and if not, then the world wont end there. we know that mathematically there will be people who undergo heartbreak. So, lets support each other. The crooked indian education system have made an unsettling rivalry amongst the youth in terms of exam competition, fear, anxiety and so one. we shall unite, mutually give hands to others, focus on growing as a community. Just my opinion, criticisms are welcomed!
