Anyone else hate Lockdown Browser?

So last night I tried to take my final for my polisci class that had to be taken on Lockdown Browser, but then I got a popup talking about how it "detected a VM (virtual machine)" which booted me off the exam.

I freaked out and I tried most if not all recommended solutions, like disabling things through Device Manager, temporarily disabling the anti-virus which may be mimicking a VM, etc.. And I'm certain I didn't install anything that has anything to do with VMs. Despite my efforts and restarting my computer multiple times I still got the same error and getting booted off.

Anyway, I failed my final which dropped my grade from a B to a C and it's been messing me up since. Even emailed prof and he said that there was nothing he could do, so. I'm especially irked by this cause I'm worried about my gpa and I was looking forward to transferring to a uni in the fall.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Communication 101 and 5 people requirement

I am taking Com 101 in person and it says I have to have 5 people present for speech day. Does it have to be family members or do other CSN students count? How often is speech day? It is once a semester or 4 speeches and 4 times a semester. I am enrolled with Chelsi Walls.

Saw a post from the UNLV subreddit that were hanging out there. I don’t know much about them, but rule of thumb for protestors on campuses, don’t agitate or confront them. They have people setup between C and H at Henderson, so you’ll run into either way.

Nursing

The orientation process is already really overwhelming lol I don’t have health insurance and I’m reading It’s a requirement throughout the program. Has anybody been in this situation? I’m looking at paying hundreds of dollars a month through the marketplace if so.

Does anyone know what prof. Aulner’s final exam is like (223)?

I’m just a little burnout from studying from my practicals and exams last week and it’s been really hard to study and review all the past exams. 😭I have my final exam for Aulner’s on Monday and I just wanna know what are the types of questions I can expect on his finals. Mainly if they’re more on the difficult side or a little more simple. I scored an average of 90-96 ~ on the previous exams but I’m just a little stressed about the final exam and what I should expect ;;;

Philosophy 102 Professor recommendations

Hi everyone so I’m taking philosophy 102 in the fall this year. I’ve looked at rate my professor but I cannot decide on which professor. I’m taking it online to make it easier on me because I have to take bio 223, chem 108 (online) and PSC 101.
I’ve condensed it to these professors do you guys recommend any of these?

How’s accessibility on campus?

Going to be going in the fall most likely!

However, I’m disabled and use a cane. Once I officially get enrolled, I’m going to go for myself and check it out to plan things, but I want to prepare mentally.

How’s the accessibility? Decent amount of ramps and elevators in lieu of stairs? Do all the entrances have the little buttons? Anything I might need to know?

Thanks in advance!

ETA: this is the Charleston campus most likely, sorry I forgot to specify!

Heads Up! Shinyhunters Is At It Again

Shinyhunters is at it again today. Reports from the Canvas subreddit are citing that despite their claim that schools have until the 12th, some schools have again been disrupted today. I hope everyone here pulled off of Canvas what they need for the remainder of the semester.

Also, the updates from CSN are appreciated however I have not heard from my instructor regarding what her plans are in case Canvas is down on Monday for our final. I know instructors were supposed to begin contacting students with potential alternatives (regarding assignments but maybe not finals, I'm not sure). I have yet to hear anything from anyone other than the OOTP.

Not Walking at Graduation

I have applied for graduation and am eligible. Finally, this part of my life has come full circle, however, I have opted not to walk at graduation. I won't even be attending actually. I was wondering if anyone else has fallen into this category and/or if anyone could shed light on whether they still announce your name at graduation even if you won't walk/ be there. I know it may seem like a weird question but I would like to know if my name will still be called. I have attended high school graduations where they call students' names who don't walk up to receive their diploma (ie they aren't in attendance) and I have to admit, it's super awkward. Of course everyone just moves on but, it is awkward. I would almost rather they just not call my name. I suppose that if I won't be there, it doesn't matter either way.
