Insane box of nickels

Howdy yall, grabbed this funky box of nickels that was sealed with packing tape from a local bank I have never visited before and I think I hit someone’s collection dump.

9 V nickels, 3 buffalo, 3 semi key jeffersons, a 2009, a ton of MS FS 90-2000s coins, and a nickel that looks like it came off a very tired die.

Probably never going to get a box this good again lol, was suprised not to see a war nickel with all of this gas, was almost expecting a shield to pop out haha!

First time searching rolls

Took the plunge and asked about halves at my bank. They were excited to sell me the entire $90 they had on hand, as the manager said they would never get rid of them.

A quick look through them in my car while waiting for an appointment was disappointing, as it seemed I had found somebody’s dump bank. A more thorough search at home yielded the 1969.

The toning on the ‘69 made it look like a clad if you were only quickly scanning the rims, so maybe it was a dump, but it was a rush to find when I had pretty much given up hope.

Glad I took the plunge.

Weight test was pretty accurate!

Grabbed $100 in halves from credit union. Most were 225.4. One was 225.9 and the other 226.9. You can guess which were in each :)

Not bad for the start of the week.

The (4) silver dimes were found out of $130 cwr. The quarter was found in a Coinstar kiosk but I decided to add it here. This 1963 dime is cooked at 1.9 grams. Didn't notice it until it dropped on the table surface and the sound was a dead giveaway.

Collection Dump

So this was nickel box one out of the 4 boxes of nickels and two dimes boxes I posted the other day. Still working my way through em but wanted to post this update.

Someone got into grandpas coin collection and cashed em in.

New proofs, older proofs, 2 buffalo nickels, foreign coin and too many 30/40/50s to count. Def have some upgrades to make in my albums.

Some of the nicest 60/70s I’ve seen/found. Smoking hot. Pic doesn’t do em justice.

What did I find?

What is this and does it have any value? I was hunting for silver and found this hollowed out coin.

Smashed quarter or mis struck gold?

I would love feedback from anyone that might know something about this coin. When I first came upon it (arrived to me in a jewelry bag I purchased from Goodwill), I thought it was just a quarter that someone put on the train tracks. but over the years, as I learned more about coins and misstriking, I thought maybe that's what I had. Thoughts? I'd also love to know what it's worth, if anyone has an educated guess! Thanks in advance!
