View from my flight

I took these photos in July 2024 while on a flight from the east coast of the US to the west coast, according to my iPhone, this was while flying over Alabama. To this day it was one of the most jaw dropping views of clouds I’ve ever seen!

Opalescent Clouds

I saw this faint and shimmering iridescence on gossamer clouds around the sun on my walk in the woods in Winchester, MA this past winter. Has anyone encountered this before? Keep in mind that naming something isn't the same as understanding it. Whether or not it has a prosaic explanation, it was absolutely magical to experience in person ✨
