Sexual assault allegations cloud Yasiel Puig's future in MLB. Prospects remain bright in the CBL though!
"Major League Baseball investigators have interviewed a woman who said free-agent outfielder Yasiel Puig sexually assaulted her in a Staples Center bathroom, but have not taken further steps due to her desire to remain anonymous and are awaiting further evidence to emerge from her lawsuit, an MLB source told ESPN.
With the start of baseball season weeks away, Puig, 30, remains without a job, at least partly because of the allegation, according to a source in one team's front office.
The woman, identified in federal court documents only as Jane Roe, sued Puig last October, saying the former Dodgers outfielder followed her into a bathroom after an October 2018 Lakers game, "pinned her with one arm" to prevent her from leaving, groped her and masturbated in front of her."

Happy CBL Opening Day Everyone!
After a long offseason the CBL is back with a lot of new changes, a new name, pro model, playoff format, season structure, and much more.
This new era of Canadien Baseball gets going shortly after 2:00pm today when the Kitchener Panthers travel down to Christie Pits to take on the Maple Leafs.
Happy Opening Day everyone, let's hope for a good season
GAMEDAY THREAD: 2026 Opening Day Game, Kitchener Panthers (0-0) at Toronto Maple Leafs (0-0) 2:00pm EST
I don’t believe Brantford charges for ages 13 and under. Toronto doesn’t charge at all. Guelph is always a mess (up for sale, again).
I can see this working for Welland and… maybe Barrie with the new park?
Just don’t want to see the league fold due to this professional branding. Fearing this may be short sighted. Can this work? In theory, yes. Has pro ball failed more often than not in Canada? Also yes.
Ted’s got his work cut out for him.
This morning I found myself in the neighbourhood to work on a job. Sat down for a coffee before getting started.
Next week I'll be sitting down here because it's opening day!
See you all on the hill!
I started hearing about the IBL (now CBL ig) near the end of last year, and have wanted to go to a game for a bit and am thinking of going to the game with some of my friends to see Puig next Sunday. I've never gone to a game, so I had a few questions about what to expect.
- What's the fan atmosphere like? How many people are typically there? Will there be more because its the first game of the year? I've been to some nicher teams in the past (York United, Steelheads, etc) and the turnout has been pretty good, is this similar?
- Are there concessions, and if so what is available?
- Is the baseball itself any good/where does it compare to other leagues? I've been to several MiLB games, and a Frontier League game when I was in the area one time.
Thanks so much!
