im going to be so so so fucking pissed if they kill him off in doomsday because whats the point even??? like let my guy be happy for once. He'sbeen brainwashed and frozen for 70 years, barely had like a year in wakanda to recover i think ( correct me if im wrong ), then for 5 years he's basically dead thanks to thanos's natural selection bs, he was doing okay in TFATWS, they went with the random congressman direction with him in thunderbolts and he obv wasn't enjoying himself, hell i don't remember him smiling ONCE in that entire movie, and now they're gonna kill him in doomsday????? like what. Does Marvel genuinely have no idea that by killing their well-established and lovable, well-written characters, they're leaving a shit tone of empty room for newer characters to occupy, who have a lifetime's worth of expectations to live up to, and yk what; those characters won't be as well-recieved because as is obvious; they haven't been established well AT ALL. Except for the new thunderbolts i genuinely don't think anyone comes close to being on par with the avengers, the guardians etc. But even the thunderbolts would lwk not do as well as it's own stand-alone thing without bucky 😭Im genuinely going to kms if marvel decides to pull an 'i am iron man' on Bucky

Calling all Steve/Bucky/WW2 nerds!!!

I am working on a Marvel comic AU set entirely in WW2 that explores the concept of memory loss, friendship, and trauma. A dark psychological thriller with maybe some folk horror elements. I’m also taking inspiration from the music made by the Caretaker and the indie game Habromania. I want it to be as historically accurate as possible.

Anything you guys would love to see in this? And also are there any cool ww2 facts or aspects of Steve and Bucky you’d like me to include? I know the First Avenger film got a lot of stuff wrong and I don’t want to make the same mistake. I’d also appreciate it if you guys could point me to a website or books that would help inform me about the time period. I still have a very rudimentary understanding of the 30s, 40s, and the Cold War.

P.S. — This is not a ship comic. I simply want to explore their friendship, as well as their camaraderie with the Howling Commandos who were severely under explored in the film.
