r/BreakingBenjamin
The other Hollywood Records band that was slated to be BB 2.0 until the lead singer left.
m.youtube.comSongs similar to Forget It?
This song is still a favorite after all these years. Do you know of any any similar feel/sounding songs? It doesn’t have to be Breaking Benjamin song.
Which do you guys prefer? RED or Starset?
I'm mainly asking because both of these bands sound pretty similar to Breaking Benjamin.
Starset is interesting to me conceptually, but the execution falls flat a lot of the time (even though they definitely have some bangers). But RED is way better, IMO, because they have heavier and catchier guitar riffs, Michael Barnes is an amazing vocalist, and their music is cinematic without being self-indulgent in the way that Starset is.
Anyway, what do you guys think?
Most recent performances of 2018's Ember
Two in one day! I have a lot of free time right now lmao so might as well! Per setlist.fm as usual. Might be some recency bias factored into this as well, even though recency here means... 8 years ago. Insane.

Save Yourself: Never performed live
Close Your Eyes: Never performed live
And that is officially a wrap on all of Breaking Benjamin's (as of right now) discography. Hopefully we get that new album this year finally lol. Crazy that they've played more songs from this album than Dark Before Dawn if only by one song. Those never performed songs would be phenomenal live though I bet, hopefully they bust them out for a future tour. I am glad they play Blood though, that's my favorite off this album!
Also, one more thing: this isn't quite the end of the Breaking Benjamin performances series, as I'm going to conclude it with their non-album singles like Blow Me Away and Awaken (I know Awaken is technically the first single off the upcoming album but it's been almost 2 years so it's basically a standalone single to me right now) along with some b-sides and random covers they've done of other bands and artists over the years!
Listening to some metalcore on autoplay and Tidal decides to throw these in 🤘

And there we have it on their comeback album! Gotta be honest, I'm a little disappointed, their track record for their first 4 albums and giving each song at least one performance was solid. But that's 4 songs on here that according to setlist.fm have never been played live and that's crazy. Especially Hollow and Defeated. I'd love to hear those live! Hollow is my favorite song off this album lol.
Sometimes I find myself wondering
Did Ben find his place in that damned diary?
I love Saturate
I had been listening to the other 5 albums for a long time.
I LOVED the "Hopelessness" themes I kept listening to, but after listening to Saturate, it felt like a nice, new break, AWAY from those kinds of songs.
New album a real thing or…
Posted this in the last thread, but wanted to see what everyone else thought…I’ve been saying for years in this sub that the “new album” is not actually a thing. They’ll just tour a few more years and Ben will retire. Why else would they keep stringing fans along with ZERO solid dates for literally anything new. Awaken took me by surprise, but the year off after just further cemented the theory. I think Awaken was likely an Ember or DBD song that got updated.
Quick question about the band
So personally, I haven’t seen anything regarding this, but someone on facebook has posted that BB are apparently MAGA and ‘trying to share their right wing opinions on stage’
Supposedly this took place in Portland. Can anyone confirm this?
Edit: for the record, I’m not bothered if BB are republican/lean right politically, but as a fan, I won’t stand for another (supposed) fan spouting misinformation about the band!
So now that it looks like James is out...
...who do y'all think will be the new drummer? I'm not even gonna guess--I hadn't even heard of James before he hooked up with BB. 😂😬
Tax return well spent
Havent missed a live show near me in 20 yrs. Not about to start.
Guess the song by the stock image
Bonus challenge: spell out a song using emoji's and I'll see if I can guess it
James done touring with BB? Not tagged and took BB out of his bio
Loved James as the fill in. Even if it is the end, hope he is back in the studio with Asking Alexandria and wish him the best
Why is Saturate not in the albums list?
I recently got into Breaking Benjamin and saw the Saturate cover on the compilation of their first 3 albums but I couldn't find it in the albums list. However I could read the title on it, looked it up on Spotify and I had to click a playlist to find the album to then navigate to "show album" and now O got it. But that's a bit strange imo
What are your Breaking Benjamin hot takes?
Mine is that Ember is easily their best album by a long shot. It has the heaviest riffs, the tightest drumming, interesting and creepy lyrics (especially Feed the Wolf), memorable melodies, and a very ominous and sinister vibe that's really immersive. Not to mention the badass album cover.
Breaking Benjamin announced as special guests for Summer of '99 Cruise
This could financially cripple me 😭
