I’m going to be straight up, I don’t really use boss tone studio. (ik it’s the most powerful tool for the amp and it’s a hidden gem)

The software genuinely is just so confusing to me. If I want to add a simple booster there’s a million sub knobs for the booster that makes it so much harder to dial in.

Because of that I rely on just using the panel settings like amp type, gain etc as its way more intuitive and in a way, combined into one knob rather than 10 different eq knobs for one setting.

The issue is the panel settings just don’t sound great in itself and the boss tone software is so confusing with the eq i genuinely don’t know what to do.

All I want is to produce an 80s rock tone like Bon Jovi , motley Crue, poison, etc.

I need some advice!

i have a multi effects but im thinking about selling it and buy a chocolate midi to use as a foot switch for the katana.

does anyone use one?

I feel like I need to back off the distortion after I’ve played ~30 minutes. I have a gen 3 50 and only use the lowest power setting and the master volume is less than 50%. It’s odd. 🤔 Is there some kind of human mental condition that makes me hear/think my guitar is playing hotter after a while? Solid state gear doesn’t have a “running hot” sweet spot right?

I got this katana, and I wonder if I can run my synth through it. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi! How can I have a "stable" volume between presaved effects? Distortions level it up a lot and I like some tones with high volume. I want to play live not having to worry too much about it.

I have a Boss Katana Waza Air headphone set. I also have the digital amp/pedal app. The headphones “midi” connection constantly disconnects from the app after a few minutes as I play but not from my phone (while I’ll use to play backing tracks). Anyone experience this or have any tips? I got these in December.

I heard that with the Mk2, it’s possible to connect to the Katana library app via Bluetooth and edit patches etc from your phone.

MOst of what I read reccomend a the Airstep Kat but I already have the GA-FC so don’t need another footswitch.

AI says you can use a CME Widi Uhost.

Has anyone had success with this? And is it the only option out there.

Don’t want to get overexcited and buy it, only to find it doesn’t work because I haven’t researched properly or I’ve misunderstood something.

Any advice is much appreciated.

This question will probably make me sound like a total newbie because, well, I am. I have a Boss Katana 50 Gen3 and I finally managed to get my PC to recognize it after a lot of frustration.

I installed Boss Tone Studio and my question is this: What amp type am I supposed to use while using downloaded tones? Say I download a Metallica And Justice For All setting and an Iron Maiden clean tone setting. Am I supposed to manually set the amp type to match what I see on Boss Tone Studio or am I supposed to not do that and stay in the clean channel on my amp? Sorry if this is confusing but I honestly have no idea, like I said, I am a newbie.

I bought this with some guilt. I knew I basically wanted to make it sound like my NDSP SLO 100 plugin. So why buy it at all? Kind of an irresponsible purchase with that logic. But now as I try to dial my metal juice, I am starting to wish my slo 100 plugin sounded more like my katana gen 3 50. I can’t decide if this is good or bad. 🤘🏻

I’m recording at home - fully in the box with NDSP Plini.

I’m looking for a way to play practices and maybe live without spending 1600 on a quad cortex and I’m wondering about experiences with the katana mk2, most specifically gain level and fx like compressor, octave pedal, delay and reverb.

I use a few tones

Breakup clean with reverb

Crunch with od and octave pedal in the front

Dist tone, sometimes with octave pedal

Lead tone, lead with octaver, lead with 90% wetness on reverb

I can provide examples if needed, but i have a chance to pick up a katana 100 with a footswitch for 350 eur so i’m deciding if its the right call for me

I got a Boss Katana Mk 2 and I just haven’t used it. I’ve tried literally everything from overdrive pedals, metal pedals, EQS, and spending countless hours messing with the computer program and I just can’t get a good metal tone, the spark amp that I’ve had for 6 years sounds better than the katana. What should I do to get a good metal tone I paid a good amount of money and I want to get use out of it.

Looking for suggestions for getting the most out of a prs se 2 piezo with the 50 gen3 Specifically tips or tricks for the piezo either on its own or mixing with the mag pickups. I'm thinking about trying an IR pedal in the power amp but any other tips would be appreciated.

I've got a Focusrite 2i2' mini running into my laptop (Ableton Live lite 12) and when trying out the line out recording feature, it sounded like straight buns. I'm not 100% sure it's a technical thing, but I have my EQ section all set at around 1. If anyone has some tips, a video link or could message me to more thoroughly diagnose it, it would be greatly appreciated.
