So after a while with Thunderbird (Microsoft Store Version for notification to work) not really working reliable to start, I made the switch to Betterbird and Auto Start now works good.
But when I get a new mail I only hear the notification sound and no notification. Is there another service I need to put into the Windows Auto-Start Folder?

I deleted an email account by clicking on tools, account settings, delete. The account does not show up, but when I open BB, I get the error message that I need to authenticate the account with the password. Is there a setting somewhere that will kill this popup message each time I open BB?
The latest version of Quicktext (6.7.1) no longer works with Betterbird. And the author apparently has no intention of changing that -- my bug report was promptly closed.
Found that Clippings for Thunderbird is a good replacement.

For a little over a week now, two or three minutes after launching, Betterbird freezes and stops responding, so I have to force quit it.
I've tried updating it and even uninstalling and reinstalling it, but nothing works.
This problem doesn't occur on my laptop, even though I'm using the same version and the same email accounts.
What could be causing this problem?
