Got a notification from the ATF that I needed to submit a pic of the front and back of my LTC, and it needed to be done today. Anyone else ever get this?
On day 73 and that jives with the current approval times. Crossing my fingers its approved today if not sooner
ETA: Came back approved with no conditions
Hello all. It’s been a while since I’ve moved and I’ve heard a lot of new things since I’ve last had to update my address on my LTC. This is more for me to confirm what I’ve heard is correct or not.
It seems I no longer have to update my losing and gaining county (it’s the same county for this move), just update my address on the portal. Is this true? And from what I understand it’s still good practice to let the PD(s) know about the move, just in case the portal is still shit.
I still need to mail the Firearms Records Bureau on my address change. Or is this no longer true, just good practice.
Any clarification would be helpful. Thank you and let’s hope MA stops infringing on our rights.
I have the packet filled out already. Easiest part can officially be checked off. To be clear I have my NH and RI ccw as well and I’m looking to get my Massachusetts to complete the trifecta of greatness. My questions are as follows.
Is the 4 hour course I linked, the class I need to attend to meet the requirements to submit my packet? I was told it must be 12 hours but this is hearsay.
Once the packet is submitted I have seen the appointment in Chelsea MA anywhere from 1-6 months out. What can I expect time frame wise these days and can this date be changed through the online portal like I was told or am I stuck with the date they give me?
Lastly what are the requirements if I want to bring a semi automatic weapon into Massachusetts to shoot at a range? I’m unfamiliar with your states pre ban policies as they seem to be all over the place.
Thank you
Applied for renewal June 1st, paid online.
New LTC in hand June 15th with LTC issue date of September 2026 (date when I did initial application)
Hey guys, I know this discussion has been talked into the ground by now and I know people debate the “pre 8/1” or “on 8/1” but I had a different question. I’ve only owned two pre 8/1 rifles. One that I currently own and is living in a free state but still registered in MA and one the other I sold shortly after purchasing from a dealer because I knew I wouldn’t use it. My questions are could you still get in trouble legally if say you got in trouble for something else and they looked at your transaction history on the portal and saw “assault weapons”. Could you be charged even if you are not in possession of the rifle and it is in another state?
Just got back from submitting my LTC application at springfield pd. Got printed the same day, but there was no interview portion.
I was under the impression that there was but I may be mistaken. Anyone else have a similar experience?
I did the barrel work, stock and everything else. u/scientificcoatings did the cerakote
I just am not sure how the best way to approach this is. Mix of handguns, antique rifles, AR15s, hunting rifles...just help please.
Fortunately I am an 07. Part of me wants to machine the rear of the reciever out and weld in the appropriate parts for a side folder.

Zastava m77 parts kit, akb Chrome lined barrel on a Totort reciever.
Just went to try out a MAC DS9 as I’ve seen some pretty good reviews on it. They only had the 5” version and i was more interested in the 4.25” so I bought a Commander out of impulse like a dummy just to have a 1911. I haven’t shot the commander but have only heard good things about it. Now of course both are not the same but is there gonna be too much of a difference for me to want to keep the commander? I’m not too interested in carrying it daily or anything like that. Just want a fun platform.
Submitted and accepted individual eform and digital prints. Waiting for approval. I’m on day 65.
Any insight on waiting times
I have minimal baseline wilderness first aid experience from my younger days as a camp counselor but it’s time to invest in some more practical knowledge
The official ACS site shows zero available courses nearby. Does anyone know of a good route to go for a stop the bleed course or similar? Ideally in the Boston area but can be flexible.
Fwiw, im not going to combat and likely never will. Im more interested in practical skill sets for, god forbid, a range accident as opposed to cutting edge tactical.
It’s 2am , a armed guy is in the hallway and you deal with him via 1 center mass shot. You call the cops but at the same time you try to help put pressure on the wound . Do you look guilty when cops come ?
If I was ems would it change answer?
I dream of a day where FFLs sell what normal civilians can get.
And no, I'm not liberal or conservative. I'm just not retarded.
Just picked up a stripped Ruger 10-22 receiver today that I had sent to my local FFL. Does anyone know if it was correct for them to have done an FA-10 for this? Thought I would just do it once I actually assembled the build. They also selected “high capacity” when I don’t possess a magazine over 10 rounds. Is that an issue?
So i now have a VP9 Match slide/barrel, and because the match has so many cuts in the slide many folks have ported it.

I know i can ship to the places that made those video's, but I would rather have it done locally. Thanks for any suggestions.
