What does it mean to you that a KN was good in terms of crowd?

It came to my attention that I might interpret things differently than other people. I want to verify this.

I am a social beast, I love to meat new people in Bh/Pano and I come for the house music and people, so to me „it” (that the crowd was good) means people were adventurous, friendly, respectful, chatty, dancing, here and now rather than then and later, and that the crowd was diverse in terms of freakiness. Also, I mean that not many people have worn fetish attire unless that’s their thing, which is cringe tbh.

I sometimes have a feeling people are more judging when they say the crowd was good or bad, and by this means they either had „great outfits” or if they were „tourists or not”.

No oversharing please.

Edit:
PS. I wrote „meat new people” and OFC I meant „meet new people” but then I thought I like to „meat” new people too, so it stays this way. 🐻

Goa infused techno trend

Lately I’ve been getting really annoyed by this whole “Goa-infused techno” trend that’s taking over so many sets. I know some people love it, but for me it completely misses what makes good groovy techno actually work.

A lot of these tracks are overloaded with psychedelic arps, cheesy cosmic melodies, acidic high-frequency sounds and endless tension that never properly resolves. Instead of feeling hypnotic and driving, it just feels mentally exhausting and emotionally heavy. Almost depressive in a weird way.

What I personally love about proper techno is the groove, the rhythm, the physical movement, the repetition that locks you into a flow state. Good techno feels grounded, warm, confident and body-focused. You get pulled into the kick, the percussion and the groove.

But with a lot of this modern Goa/Psy influence, it feels like DJs are trying too hard to sound “trippy” or “spiritual,” while forgetting the core purpose of techno: making people move.

There’s just too much going on: nonstop arpeggios, sharp resonant synths, no breathing room, constant melodic tension, overcrowded arrangements. Instead of a deep groove, it becomes this anxious wall of sound that pulls you into your head instead of into your body.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I’d still take a stripped-back rolling groove with tension and space over this constant “look guys, I discovered psychedelics” soundtrack that’s infecting almost every techno set lately.

Broken leg:/

I broke my leg on the Weekend and the doctor said that I won’t be able to walk for 8 weeks… summer is almost here and I don’t want to miss out having fun with and without my friends. I got myself a kneewalker or am maybe considering getting a wheelchair..
What clubs are wheelchair/ kneewalker friendly?

Why are we boycotting KKR owned festivals except Awakenings?

The club music scene has become extremely vocal about boycotting festivals tied to KKR and similar investment groups often presenting this as an ethical necessity.
So why does Awakenings seem largely excluded from that conversation?

Did I miss some important information that changes the context, or is this simply one of the clearest examples of hypocrisy and selective morality within the scene?

I’m not asking this sarcastically. I’m genuinely interested in understanding why certain platforms become unacceptable overnight, while others continue to be embraced almost unquestioningly despite apparently similar ownership structures.
Curious to hear thoughts from people who’ve looked deeper into this

FAQ:

  1. “PE festivals” (Private Equity-backed festivals) are events increasingly shaped around maximizing guest spending through overproduction, aggressive marketing, higher ticket prices and premium experiences, despite already receiving massive money from corporate sponsors.

  2. “who is we?” I mean the Berlin techno community and beyond, the ecosystem around clubs like Berghain, Tresor and the artists, collectives, labels and dancers connected to that culture.

Party of the rejected ones

What would you think would a party be, where all the „heute nicht“ come together? Would it work out in a certain way in your opinion or would it be totally off?

How safe is it to walk home alone at 3-4 am

Do people typically take ubers / cabs? Is there an app for that? I'm imagining I will just walk back through Boxhagener Platz towards my apartment about 20 minutes away. I'm from Chicago and this is regular practice for me, and I've never felt truly unsafe except on rare occasions. Are there areas I should avoid? Also, I'm a man, so probably a bit less I have to worry about.

Big surprise?

What were yours biggest surprises at Pano regarding DJs?

I’ll give you an example, for me it was Katy de Jesus 2-3 years back. We were dancing like there’s no tomorrow and we’re asking around who is playing, the music was so sick 💥 later I found out it was her… I never heard about her before and now, I always try to attend her sets. SO GOOD!

Share yours! 💜

Cash or card

Hey xx, been coming to Berghain for quite a while now, and since they introduced card payment I’ve noticed it sometimes takes quite long until the staff finds out whether the customer wants to pay cash or by card. So maybe we could all try to remember to tell them the payment method right after ordering. Take care and see you on the floor.
