The FAQ Rich Snippet is officially dead. Google just closed your favorite real-estate loophole.
It’s a dark day for those of us who used FAQ Schema to hog the SERP. Google has officially confirmed it is dropping FAQ rich results from search.
For years, we used this to push competitors below the fold and grab "Position 0" real estate. Now, Google is clearing that space to make more room for its own AI-generated answers.
What this means for your strategy:
- Focus on Entity Authority: If you can't win with snippets, you have to win with the Knowledge Graph.
- Proprietary Data is King: Google is prioritizing answers it can't just "guess."
- Clean Up Your Code: Don't delete the schema yet, but stop prioritizing it over actual content depth.
Are you seeing a massive traffic dip from this, or had you already pivoted to GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
