Wow 808 5 ultra v2 review

Got these in today and played in them Conclusion: they feel amazing, they took a game or 2 to break in but once they are … they feel like running shoes w basketball grip. They feel springy. I got a 11.5 so they are tts a little long in the toe. They look amazing and the cushion feels great. I wiped only a couple of times but that was out of habit the traction is about a 9.25/10. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE SHOES if you are a quick guard you will fw these. They just take forever to come in but totally worth all the advertising they do😂. They feel like you aren’t even wearing a shoe.

Casual hooper, Guard, 5'9" 195lbs, Wide feet = Book 1 was my favorite shoe last year. Felt loyal to the line, but saw the atrocious reviews for the launch molded upper Colorways of the Book 2. Saw the Spiridon on sale for $100, and figured I'd give them a shot.

After 3 indoor sessions and 2 outdoor sessions - Book 2 8.5/10 vs Book 1 9/10. Lots of good, improvements are welcome, it just doesn't feel like an "evolution" of the Book 1. I play like Jalen Brunson, and with that style they're working well for me.

Fit - the most controversial part of the shoe: Full sized up to 13, normally size 12 in most,12.5 in Nikes. Even full size up, it's got just the right amount space at the front, so anyone going TTS most be in hell. Toebox width is solid, top of shoe was a little snug but they broke in. my wide feet are comfy, though I'm getting some cramping in my left foot, which is odd since it's my less wide foot. Def half size up if you have normal width feet, and full size if wide, you'll be fine. Mesh feels comfy, I don't feel the eyelets in my ankle like others have complained about. These feel way better than the molded upper.

Traction - one of my biggest surprises after hearing reviews, they've been great for me, feel very sticky both indoors and out. Time will tell durability, but the rubber outsole on Spiridon feels pretty solid and I haven't had significant wear. Switching between these and the AE2's, these have way better traction, the AE's got me sliding everywhere. The clip flange is VERY noticable, I feel very steady in these, no ankle issues so far like in Book 1.

Cushion - Lot of court feel, but cushion is solid, about average for a guard shoe. The switch of Air Zoom unit to the front took away the landing heel cushion I liked as someone who rebounds/jumps a lot, but these feel easier to drive in. Not as plush as the Book 1's, but it's more preference vs a negative. I already see a lot of creasing in the midsole though, but I am heavier.

Upper/Weight - Mesh feels good, though I don't think they'll be as breathable, the meshing is cosmetic, it's still enclosed panels. These definitely feel heavier than Book 1, one of the biggest drawbacks, but I also was a size down in Book 1 so to be expected. Not enough to cause major issues, but noticeable.

Overall: I travel and play a good amount, so I wanted a vacation sneaker that doesn't scream basketball, and by that critieria, I'm pretty happy(esp for $100). Biggest negatives are the confusing sizing and the weight. At least for the mesh colorways, this shoe's been getting too much hate compared to the atrocities of the GT Cut 4.

“Help ID These Team-Issued Nike HM5038-701 Size 18.5 (Found at Ross)”

Picked these up at Ross and they’re definitely team-issued, not retail.
Tag reads HM5038‑701, size 18.5, production window 01/03/24–06/22/24, made in Vietnam.
Volt/yellow colorway, and there’s a “33” written on the outsole (looks like an equipment-room marking, not a jersey number).

Trying to figure out which team these might’ve come from — likely a D1 or G‑League big man.
Anyone seen this exact Team Bank batch before?

Heya! This is my review on the 361 Joker 1 GT “Capybara” colorway. FYI: I play on both rubber and concrete courts. Sorry for taking so long to make this review!

~Traction 10/10
No complaints here. Similar to Lining’s GCU compound, the traction is stop on a dime. It doesn’t attract dust even on my really dusty concrete court. GCU and RPU’s traction performance is really top of the line from what I have tried so far.
_

~Cushion 7/10
Now the cushion is the interesting part. The foam “CQTEXTREM3” is soft and the main contributor to the “bounce” in the shoe. Unlike BOOM foam which is stiffer and responsive, I personally think the foam on the joker is too soft and mushy. I dunno how to feel because on one hand, the bounce and impact protection is good but your feet kinda sinks into the foam. Maybe Im just not used to it yet.

The carbon fiber in this shoe is mainly used as structural support for torsional and lateral rigidity rather than bounce like the Way of wade 10,11,12. Etc. Works rather like the anta kai 1s. Pretty good

~Upper & lockdown 9/10 (-1 mostly because of lace setup)
The upper on this pair is made of this suede leathery material. I thought it would trap more heat but surprisingly the shoe is able to dissipate heat well.

The way these lockdown are a-bit weird though. The way they are set up, you can’t really pull down on the laces hard because they just get stuck. I did switch the lacing system so it goes from the inner lace hole to the outer lace hole compared to what they initially set up. You can see how I laced them up in slide 7. Still, the high ankle collar on this pair helps contain the foot pretty well. This shoe broke in really fast for me and the upper being more flexible helped a lot

The tongue, ankle and achilles padding of the shoe is nice and comfortable

Another thing is that being a high top, this shoe is pretty hard to put on but is expected

_
~Overall durability 8/10 (benefit of doubt)

No problems with the upper so far. I’ve seen other posts on here about the outsole cracking and the Joker SE (summer edition) having separation issues but my pair was fine. If i had to say something negative about this pair, I think the foam will bottom out faster than other shoes.
The only part on the outsole that is starting to wear out is right at the front of the shoe where you would pivot and the medial side. Maybe it’s my footwork that is causing this issue because it’s on both of the shoes. I have attached a photo on slides 4,5 and 6

_
~Other things I want to mention

Side to side stability is great. The lateral flange here works really well.

I like that the outsole comes up the side of the shoe, really nice for shifty players

Fit: TTS

Feel free to ask any questions! Again, sorry for the late review.

Li-Ning BadFive V is sooo good!! Don't sleep on it for outdoors(...and indoors)!

I was looking for a cheap shoe to replace my Zoom Soldier 9's for outdoor summer play and bumped across Li-Ning's BadFive V. It checked all my boxes on paper:

- good cushion

- mid-top silhouette

- durable outsole

- midfoot shank

- supportive and breathable, wear resistant upper

- under 100€ price

- good looks :)

Never had Li-Ning before, but I got these for 65€, which is so low that I can live with easily if I don't like the shoe. I was not sure about sizing, went the same US7.5 as my typical Nike size and these fit perfectly. A little bit tight on top as I have high instep, but perfect lengthwise. The fit is secure, no movement or heel slippage whatsoever. Lot better than my AJ36's...The SuperBoom cushion feels as bouncy and responsive as ZoomAir in the forefoot, heel is very well dampened. It's a lightweight, nimble shoe, with amazing pop and traction. Played 2 times indoors in them to break these a bit, so I can not comment on outsole durability, but should be good as the TuffOS compound is specifically formulated for concrete courts. All in all it's amazing shoe, that I can rate higher than AJ36, on par with 361° TeamJoker and Zion2s.

Air Jordan 11 Low

Reflections on some absolute classics. 🌅✨ Check out the steel sports watch paired perfectly with the black Air Jordan 11 Low.

Did you know the patent leather on the AJ11 was a functional choice, designed to hold MJ’s feet steady while cutting? And that 316L surgical-grade steel on the watch makes it hypoallergenic? Combining performance and luxury is a serious vibe.
