‘Another reason to be proud of him’ - Lamine Yamal defended by Spain’s Prime Minster after Barcelona star criticised for waving Palestine flag
A strong statement has been issued.
Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has defended Lamine Yamal following criticism of the Barcelona star for waving a Palestinian flag during the team’s title celebrations earlier this week.
Mbappé: I always score against Barcelona
"I always score against Barça." Mate. Mate. You're out here flexing your Clásico record like it's a personality trait, while your club hasn't won a single major trophy in two consecutive seasons — which, for Real Madrid, is basically the football equivalent of a national crisis. Carlo Ancelotti lost his job over it. Modrić retired into the sunset. Even the Bernabéu faithful, famous for their patience precisely up until the second something goes wrong, had enough.
Everything that could go wrong for Real Madrid went wrong last campaign. The Spanish giants failed to defend their La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Super Cup titles, lost four Clásicos, and suffered a defensive injury crisis. Four. Clásicos. Lost. In. One. Season. But yes, Kylian, please tell us more about how you love playing that game. Sports Illustrated
Barcelona won the 2024-25 La Liga title — their 28th championship — while Real Madrid were busy firing their manager and handing the keys to Xabi Alonso like a club desperately Googling "how to stop the bleeding." And this season? Barcelona leads La Liga 2025-26 with 89 goals scored, a goal difference of +58, and Real Madrid sitting second, 19 goals behind in attacking output. Topend SportsStatMuse
So let's recap Mbappé's first two years in Madrid: zero La Liga titles, zero Champions Leagues, zero Copa del Reys. He did win the Pichichi — hitting 31 goals in La Liga in 2024-25 to claim the European Golden Boot — which is genuinely impressive and the one thing nobody can take from him. But you know who else scores a lot of goals for a team that wins nothing? Strikers on mid-table clubs. Personal stats with empty trophy cabinets are just very expensive hobbies. Real Madrid CF
And this is the man complaining he missed the Clásico. Kylian, the game happened without you and the result happened regardless. Barcelona didn't miss you either — they've been winning Clásicos with you on the pitch. The audacity of a man who joined the most successful club in history, watched them immediately become the least successful version of themselves, and still managed to make missing a game sound like the football world should pause and mourn.
"We move forward," he says. Forward to what, exactly? Another season of Xabi Alonso rebuilding while Barcelona lifts silverware and Lamine Yamal makes defenders look like traffic cones?
Kylian, you are a spectacular footballer. But right now, you're the world's most talented passenger on a train that keeps missing its stop. Maybe worry less about the Clásicos you didn't play, and more about the trophies Real Madrid aren't winning. 🏆

v.redd.itBarcalona should buy: Nicolò Tresoldi - The New Lewandowski
Tresoldi himself has drawn the comparison, and it's not accidental. He has said: "My idol has always been Pippo Inzaghi, then growing up I was inspired by Luis Suárez, and now I watch all the Robert Lewandowski games, trying to learn as much as I can." He models his game on Lewandowski — the intelligent movement, the clinical finishing, and the physical presence of a modern penalty-box striker.
The timing is almost perfect. Lewandowski, not getting any younger, is set to see his Barça deal expire at the end of this season and is reportedly close to accepting an offer from Juventus or Chicago Fire.
Barcelona will need a long-term centre-forward, and Tresoldi fits the profile: he stands at 186cm, is right-footed, and is under contract until 2029.
However, Club Bruges forward Tresoldi has emerged as a target for several top European clubs. He is reportedly being closely monitored by Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal made an inquiry, and Tottenham as well as several Italian clubs are keeping tabs on him. He joined Brugge for just €6 million and is now valued between €25–30 million.
It's unlikely Club Bruges will let him go for less than €35 million
