Serious question. What happend to this guy?

He used to be our best consistent defender. I have feeling that now his only concern is what clothes he will wear next day.

No quickness, zero agility, zero agressivness and determination, always head down, average on defence, terrible on attack. Where was the last time he created something upfront or make a good cross which didn't hit nearest defender?

Cancelo really saved us. Having crossers like Kounde and Balde on both sides all season would be horrific.

Perhaps he is influenced by previous hard years, where he played every single match.. but ffs this is Barca.

What made you start supporting Barcelona?

For me, I always played Football but never watched it. One day, couple days before 2009 UCL final, I saw my friend watching Barcelona highlights, and i immediately decided this was my club. The way they played was mesmerising. Xavi, Iniesta and Messi not only made me love Barcelona but made me fall in love with Football itself.

A lot of people have already forgotten and forgiven what some Barça fans were saying about De Jong, but I haven’t

A lot of people have already forgotten and forgiven what some Barça fans were saying about De Jong, but I haven’t. There was a period where he was getting criticized constantly, people wanted him sold to Man United, saying he was overpaid even calling him ''sueldong'' and had never reached his Ajax level.

All while ignoring that he’s a system player and the team he joined was in a crisis for years, to the point we were playing Europa League. Then under Xavi he had the ankle issues and it felt like he was done, even got whistled at Montjuic.

And then he finally gets fit again under Flick, in a team that’s actually functioning, and suddenly he shows again that he’s one of the best midfielders in the world.

But after that, nobody really said anything. No “we were wrong”, nothing.

This should be a lesson for how we treat players going forward.

Frenkie de Jong on Instagram: "As a kid, I dreamed of one day playing for FC Barcelona. That I’m now the Dutch player with the most appearances for this club makes me proud. Been here for some years and still it only feels like the beginning. Visca Barça Sempre"

I’m not as confident about the league as others seem to be

I see a lot of people acting like the league is already won but I’m honestly not that calm. The Lamine injury worries me and the attitude vs Celta wasn’t great either

There are still 6 games left and none of them are easy. Getafe away, Osasuna away, then El Clasico (and we all know anything can happen there), Alaves fighting to stay up, Betis who might still be pushing for top 4, and then Mestalla… which is never easy, especially if Valencia still needs points

I want to trust the team but they really need to move on from the UCL elimination and focus. A Liga + Supercopa is a good season, but only if they actually close it out

Also can’t lie, part of me wonders if some players are thinking about the World Cup and trying to avoid injuries

Hope we get it done, because dropping a 9 point lead with 6 games left would be a really bad look

I think there’s a bit of unfair narrative around Araujo and Barça players in general

Don’t get me wrong, Araujo has made mistakes and he’s not perfect, but I feel like a lot of fans tend to over-focus on certain players when things go wrong, as if the whole result can be reduced to one or two moments.

At the same time, other defenders like Cubarsí have also had key errors (like the two red cards in important moments), and even Iñigo Martínez had games where he struggled, but those things don’t get brought up nearly as much when they’re performing well again.

I’ve noticed similar patterns with other players too. Frenkie de Jong is a good example, after his injury in 2024, a lot of people wanted him gone, but once that he’s back at a high level, that whole period is kind of ignored. Same with players like Eric García or Raphinha.

It sometimes feels like the fanbase has a tendency to simplify complex performances into individual blame, instead of looking at consistency over time.

What do you guys think? Is it just part of being a big club, or do we overreact too quickly as fans?
