Ongoing Peeping Tom Issue
Me and my roommates live in a first floor apartment in Towson just minutes down the road from Towson University and have had an ongoing peeping tom issue with multiple different men. We keep our blinds closed, have bought curtains, even bought a security camera for every single window that they’ve peeped into and they still come back; the visits are becoming more frequent and we are scared. We have called the police every single time and they are trying to help but there’s only so much they can do. I am coming here to let my fellow residents of baltimore county know that there are dangerous men watching not only us but may other girls around the area (we have heard of multiple reports of this, not just us). Please take a look at the screenshots we have of these men from our security cameras and look out for them. do not approach and please call 911 with their description if you can. We don’t know what else to do and we are in fear for what could possibly come next, especially with the more frequent visits. We also know they have recorded us because my roommate saw it once and someone else anonymously reported seeing someone recording into our windows another time, is there any sites you’d recommend visiting to see if we can find our videos and get them reported? we want to do everything we can to make this stop. thank you. (I have only included photos where you can see their faces, they have come plenty of other times in full ski masks and hoods and we couldn’t see what they looked like at all).
Baltimore County Councilman Izzy Patoka (& staff) controversy: accusations, police references, and shifting records — what’s going on?
TL;DR:
A law firm says Councilman Patoka’s office accused them of causing “threats” with no evidence, invoked police, then couldn’t back it up. Records first showed “nothing,” then changed. Internal emails don’t match the claims—and one raises additional concerns. Raises real transparency questions.
A recent series from Turnbull Brockmeyer Law Group lays out a concerning situation involving Izzy Patoka and his Chief of Staff, Justin Silberman.
Here's the firm's most recent post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18Aw7h7ccJ/
Key points:
- TBLG was accused by Councilman Patoka's office of contributing to “threats” — with no names, dates, or evidence provided
- The message also referenced the Chief of Police, which understandably adds pressure
- When the firm asked for details → no response
- Public records requests first came back as “no records”, then later produced emails after follow-up
- Emails to police reportedly showed uncertainty and no mention of the firm, while a message sent minutes later blamed the firm directly
- An additional email (not initially disclosed) included language from Councilman Patoka himself about going to someone’s house to “see what level of courage he displays”
Regardless of politics, this raises some basic questions:
- Should government offices, especially members of the County Council running for County Executive, make serious accusations without evidence?
- Should law enforcement be invoked this way?
- Should public records change after the fact?
Feels like we should all be able to agree this is not a great look for transparency or accountability.
Curious how others see it.
Las Esperanza Cafe on Dundalk will tell Black people or others that isn’t Hispanic that they do not do DoorDash. I seen a Hispanic guy go right in behind the black woman they told they didn’t do DoorDash and picks up a DoorDash order.
Bad business
Online school for student athletes in Baltimore County?
Hey all, my teen is juggling sports and school, and the schedule is getting intense. We’re wondering if online high school might give more flexibility without sacrificing academics.
Any Baltimore County families gone this route? Did it actually help balance athletics and schoolwork?
Has Towson reached a tipping point? Part two.

Apartment recommendations in Cockeysville, Lutherville/Timonium, Towson, Parkville, White Marsh, or Rosedale?
Hi friends!
Need some serious help. I know apartments are a total crapshoot, but I’m at my wits end.
Without airing too much dirty laundry, almost everything is awful where I am. Management sucks. They never respond to anything. I’m being verbally harassed by my neighbors who blast music all hours of the day/night (to the point where I can Shazam their music in my unit) and they throw their trash on my balcony, including glass objects. And the building is overrun with mice. They’ve chewed literal holes in my apartment and, once again, management doesn’t think any of this is a problem. There’s so much more I could say about this awful place, but I’m trying to keep it short. I’ll miss the area so much, but that’s about it.
So I’m looking for a relatively, for apartment living, quiet (I know, I know, but I work from home), not mouse infested, safe enough for a person who lives alone with a dog.
Prefer apartments with in-unit laundry. Dog friendly. Looking for a one bedroom, one bath for $1600 or less. Thank you all!!
What 31 Baltimore homeowners actually paid for HVAC, roofing, water heaters, etc.
Been collecting Baltimore home service prices for a bit. Have 31 reports now, finally feels like enough to share something useful. Posting in case anyone's mid-quote.
The thing that surprised me: HVAC system replacement is actually pretty tight here.
- 5 reports
- Median $6,000
- Middle 50%: $5,400 to $9,998
- Range: $5,000 to $10,500
That's WAY tighter than the $3k-$25k national range every article quotes. If your Baltimore HVAC quote is over $11k, that's a flag worth getting a couple more bids on.
Roof replacement is wider — 6 reports, median $6,650, range $2,100 to $31,500. The high end is probably full tear-off with slate or metal (Baltimore has plenty of old rowhouses where that makes sense). The low end is probably partial replacement logged as "roof replacement." If you're getting a standard asphalt roof quote, the middle 50% range ($5,250 to $10,825) is the more useful comparison.
Some other Baltimore categories with at least 2 reports:
- Water Heater Installation: median $3,700 (range $2,400-$5,000)
- Water Main Line Replacement: median $5,950
- Roof Repair: median $2,900 (tight cluster, $2,700-$3,100)
- Deck Installation: median $26,000 (only 2 reports though, take with salt)
If you've had any of this work done in Baltimore lately, curious what you actually paid. The data only gets more useful with more reports from people in this sub.

Mall Stories
I am morbidly bored today so I wanted to know if you could give me some stories. Some stories have your days back in the numerous malls that are here. BUT, I am looking for morbid/ dark stories. Things that I would love to hear about are:
- True Crime cases (even if they are not widely known).
- Any stories/rumors about any stores
- Creepy feelings or encounters you may have had. I would LOVE to hear any personal stories if you'd like to share.
Looking for best chicken wings…
I remember back in the day Bill Batemans had these amazing wing sauces and dry rubs. Been on the hunt for a place that has smoked wings. Andy Nelson’s was not bad.
Thanks!
Lost beagle/hound
I am in Owings Mills off Thoroughbred and quarter horse Court and there is a lost beagle or hound barking and following a scent trail. He is running around this neighborhood and we cannot catch him. He does have a collar on but we cannot get close enough to him. He does not belong to anyone in our court and we're not sure where he's from.
Anyone know anything about the new Azure Mediterranean Cuisine opening on York rd next to the corner stable?

Red “M” sticker on windshields
Recently moved to the Towson area and see many vehicles with a red “M” sticker on their windshields. Curious what it is for since I only see it around Towson.
