After spending hours everyday looking at all the watches possible, I decided to buy my first bronze watch and I’m so happy with it ! I hesitated between this Baltic aquascaphe bronze and the Oris Carl Brashear (the first edition) but the second one is too hard to find and most of the time already patinated (no new models).
But after trying the Baltic I fell in love with its « Jules Verne » style. I can’t wait to bring this one to the sea with me and see the patina form over time !

Am I being too critical or is this to be expected at this price point?

Update: I reached out to Baltic and they were very quick to respond and send a label for return!

I just picked up the Aquascaphe MK2 and the first thing I noticed was the misalignment of the numerals of the 12. Is this within normal QC range or is it worth contacting Baltic about?

I know it’s not a huge deal, but it’s my first Baltic so curious to know what level of QC to expect.

Thanks in advance!

First Baltic

My HMS003 came today, a tax return gift to myself. Immensely pleased on first impression. Can’t wait to take it out in the world!

New watch day!

Picked this beauty up today. Can't keep my eyes off it.

Bezel action is tight and there is virtually no back play, which is rare even on watches that cost twice as much.

Two minor complaints:

  1. The triangle on the bezel doesn't perfectly align with minute markers, but it's not terrible.

  2. Bezel is a bit stiff, though I'd definitely take a stiff bezel over a loose one.

My Aquascaphe has become my daily driver 🤷‍♂️

I don't know why but I'm more attracted to this watch than any of my other watches! I love a couple of them almost as much, but my Baltic gets the most wrist time by far. I'm even thinking about selling off a couple of my other watches just because I see no point in having watches I don't wear. The odd thing is, my Aquascaphe isn't even that accurate compared to my other pieces, I lose like 15 seconds per day, but it doesn't bother me. It just looks so good, it goes with every outfit, it's versatile, and, I mean, just look at it!!

Update on the new watch

I'm absolutely in love with this watch. It looks sophisticated, minimalistic and elegant. Some could even say it looks too pretty for a tool oriented watch. Anyhow, thanks to the omission of a date window, the dial retains symmety and proportion. Double domed crystal looks stunning. The high degree of curvature, combined with good AR application on both sides really elevates the aesthetic whilst adding a retro charm to the watch. Frankly, just watching that smooth sweeping lollipop hand glide over that gorgeous dial alone brings me joy.

Here are some pros and cons for those interested in buying this watch:

Pros: Great dial design and finishing, tight and clicky bezel, BOF bracelet looks good, though leaves a lot to be desired in the construction department. Strong lume performance. Did I mention I like the double domed glass?

Cons: I wish the bracelet tapered just a little bit more. Clasp is okay but feels kind of cheap and wobbly. It's a significant downgrade compared to the clasp on my Murph. Bezel action is a bit stiff and it's ever so slightly misaligned. Power reserve is kinda short.

Aquascaphe MKII Flat Link Brushed…

Well, I’ve gone ahead and done the thing…

I brushed the flat link bracelet on my new MKII and now I can’t get this watch off my wrist :)

I wish I could experience the Seconde Majeure hands on to decide if it’s worth it for me

Basically the title. I love the new Seconde Majeure but I am very unsure about the dimensions and if it would fit comfortably my wrist. But I am in Berlin and nowhere near a showroom or an AD with Baltic watches. It’s the first jump hour watch I felt in love with, but 3000€ for a watch k am unsure about and just a two day window to buy is a pass for me.

Aquascaphe Dual Crown Black PVD

I'm not sure if everyone else loves this watch as much as I do. But damn it is cool.

Aquascaphe GMT at the Monument of the Discoveries in Lisbon, PT

Got the Aquascaphe GMT a few months back to take as a travel watch and this week was its inaugural voyage(to Portugal). Where better to take a photo of it than in front of a monument to discovery and by extension adventure?!
