Disturbing Pursuit That Cost a State Trooper His Career

This is the newly released footage of a high-speed chase and arrest involving former Kentucky State Trooper Hayden Kilbourne. While the incident happened in July 2023, the video was kept private for nearly three years until the criminal case was finished in early 2026.

The event began when Trooper Kilbourne joined a 100-mile-per-hour pursuit of a stolen SUV across four different counties. After police used spike strips to pop the vehicle's tires on the highway, the driver ran into the thick woods to escape. Kilbourne chased the man on foot through the forest for over ten minutes.

Once the trooper finally caught up, his own body camera recorded him making death threats and beating the surrendering suspect with a baton. Because of these actions, Kilbourne was arrested and charged with felony assault. In early 2026, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison. He is now permanently banned from ever working as a police officer again.

16 Cops Face the "Red Balloon" Test And Some Fails

This training exercise, conducted by the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) in the Thorp School District, was designed to test "target discrimination" and tactical decision-making. In a real-world crisis, officers have milliseconds to distinguish between a threat and a bystander. The "Red Balloon" drill is a notorious stress test used to expose gaps in situational awareness and muzzle discipline.

This raw footage features 16 different officers, providing a unique side-by-side comparison of law enforcement tactics.
