I got sick of copy-paste trees making my site plans look completely fake, so I coded a workaround.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a frustration I often face when creating organic master plans. Using 50 identical tree blocks or paving stones can make a natural site feel sterile and grid-like, which is the last thing we want.

Manually adjusting each block's scale to create a more organic look can be tedious and time-consuming. That's why I developed a parametric tool that revolutionizes this process. With just a few clicks, you can select your blocks, set a minimum and maximum scale, and watch as it instantly randomizes their sizes while keeping their positions exactly where you placed them.

This tool has dramatically enhanced the way my elevations and site plans appear. I’d love to hear how you all tackle the challenge of avoiding the "copy-paste grid" effect in your planting plans!

so first of all i apologize if this is a very simple thing to do , but i'm not very good at this software let alone technology, but i hate not being able to do things, and im trying hard to figure this stuff out.

Now with that out of the way, im trying to print out certain details full page, i just cannot seem to find out how to do this, i started printing stuff but i need certain details enlarged, for the life of me i cannot find out how to do this, im using forma if that makes a difference, i have it on an iphone ipad and computer using that webpage. anything i can do? also if there is a place that i can learn how to use this software better i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello, I need help with an exercise I don't know how to do. It involves creating three views: plan, front or elevation, and right side, and then extracting an auxiliary view at a 45-degree angle from the plan view, all done in AutoCAD.
Hola, necesito de ayuda para un ejercicio el cual no se como realizar, es hacer las tres vistas, planta, frontal o alzada y lateral derecha, y sacar la vista auxiliar a 45 grados desde planta hecho en Autocad

Not sure this is the best forum to ask, but here goes. Fairly new to 3d printing and very new at design.
I need to design and print a “die” to separate printed pot stakes for my greenhouse. The plastic is 10 Mil plastic, similar in thickness to heavy cardboard stock. The tags are perforated and do rip apart, but I have a couple thousand sheets.
I was thinking something that was the exact dimensions of each tag raised or lowered a bit on 2 panels that would press together. One panel would have raised edges to hold the sheet and for the other panel to be guided down.
Anyone have an opinion on whether it might work? Any better ideas? Any design help offers? I have a .ai file of the layout for exact dimensions.
It’s prime shipping time in the greenhouse business and I’m asking for help.
Will be printing on a core one with PLA or PETG the sheet is 8.5”x11”

Thank you

If there’s a better place to ask this, let me know. Will log on later, we’re super busy right now.

I was in the middle of plating when my cursor started snapping to random places on the page and having a really hard time recognizing the object. I didn’t touch any settings, it just started happening. And even when I turn all snapping off, it still is jumping around like that. HELP!!!

Hello! I am a 29 year old Project Engineer/Project Manager for a structural steel contractor.

There are many dedicated plugins and converters to take a .DWG file and export it into a .ifc file, however, I have been unable to find a reasonable solution for the reverse process.

Example of plugin that export to .ifc ->>> IFC Exporter by codemill

Essentially I am wanting to take a .ifc model from our steel suppliers and then take it back into autocad to do 2d drawing elevations and cut sheets.

Does anyone here have, or know of any lightweight plugins or additional software that could do import .ifc to autocad besides the $$$$$$$$ + my left kidney for Revit?

Thanks!

How do I draw an accurate oval/egg-shaped elevation in AutoCAD using the point method?

Hi! I'm a first year architecture student and my professor told me to draw the elevation of an oval auditorium by taking points from the plan and projecting them up to create the curved profile.

I understand the concept but I'm not sure how to do it precisely in AutoCAD. Do I use SPLINE to connect the points? And how do I project the points from the plan to the elevation accurately?

Any tutorial links or step by step advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!
