Any idea what this strange blotch is? 23 male

Noticed the other night while scratching an itch on my upper chest under collarbone area a small lump, lifted up my shirt and saw this huge discoloration that looks like a giant bruise but no pain or anything. It also is changing and now has a very weird patterned line.

Worried mom of Kindergartener

When my daughter was a few months old she developed a pinkish/darker patch on her shoulder. Her pediatrician said it was a cafe au lait but it has grown and gotten bumpy over time.

Doctors never seem concerned but I am so I made an appointment with a pediatric dermatologist (not for 6 months, though! Ugh that is a crazy wait time) and I'm trying to get a referral to see a nf1 specialist.

Since the wait is FOREVER is there anything we can do in the meantime or any other things that might be causing it so I can pursue those possible diagnoses as well?

Literally any thoughts or advice would be so helpful! Thank you!!!!!!

Hi,

Since September last year my daughter (13yr) has been getting these rashes on her joints.

We have been to countless GPs, gastroenterologist. Dermatologists, Paediatricians... none of them can work out what it is. They have ruled out via blood tests, coeliac and IBD. She has no real joint or muscle pain so they rule out any arthritis or Myositis. Its not eczema, classic psoriasis or allergy

Each time we have managed to get into a specialist (it takes weeks or months sometimes) her rash flare has settled and healed and there is nothing to examine or biopsy. Its hard to know what triggers it or when it'll flare again. She never has a cold or flu beforehand or during. No major emotional stressors or sun exposure. No particular food group.

Elbow rash - starts out as little red bumps. Over about 3 weeks the bumps get more and more and grow and eventually combine to form a plaque. The plaque has 1 or 2 days of intense inflammation. Not really itchy. Slightly tender when she leans on them. Then it heals by drying out and crusting. Then fades to leave a pigmented mark.

The elbows always start first. And when they're at their peak, she also gets lesions / nodules on her hand and toe knuckles. Her finger tips / area around nails, go red and inflamed and have a tender blistery feel. The palms of her hands get red spots which also feel tender.

Then it all heals and disappears like nothing happened. Since September 2025 its happened about 5 times. This last one was probably one of the worst.

She also has sun sensitivity and her face gets red and rashy when exposed to too much UV. She gets random "attacks" of leg pain and weakness. But nothing too crazy. Ive noticed in her blood tests her white cell count has been increasing slowly. From 5.3 in Sept ... then 6.7.. 8.3 and now 10.3

I genuinely think it is Amyopathic Juvenile Dermatomyositis. Which is skin only involvement of Dermatomyositis. Doctors dont think so.

Help.

Does this look like normal WLE healing?

It’s very yellow and I had the surgery around the afternoon in Friday so this is day 4 of healing…I don’t know what’s normal for this area but I feel like my back and arm did not look the same way when I had WLE there..I sent these photos to my surgeon in my patient portal but I’m having a lot of anxiety about how it is looking. I did have some minor bleeding thru the bandage the day I left from surgery but I applied pressure and it stopped quickly..

ODELYNE ADARA SERIES™ PRO | LED RED LIGHT THERAPY MASK NOT a FDA CLEARED device ?

Does anyone can find this device ODELYNE® ADARA SERIES™ PRO | LED LIGHT THERAPY MASK’s FDA cleared number or FDA approved evidence?

The company claims the device is FDA cleared or FDA approved as you can see the attached photos.

I have to ask the company about FDA cleared or approved evidence still never reply.

I just buy Odelyne Adara PRO™ Mask for one month because high-power Intensity. ONLY focus on the FDA Cleared but I couldn’t find any evidence of that as the company claim is FDA-Cleared devices therefore the company never reply.

Odelyne Pro red light mask nothing wrong is the high-power 75 mw/cm2 Intensity
which is higher than many red light masks without dermatologist recommend or introduce is very strange.

But if you care about the REAL FDA-CLEARED PLEASE beware and I’m not sure the 75 mw/cm2 if cause dry eyes even wear goggles.

So the real of FDA-Cleared is inevitable.

Fungal acne, dermatitis or something else?

Hi everyone, I’ve had this rash appear all over my face overnight. At first they were tiny skin coloured bumps covering my entire face including under eyes, above my lip, under my eyebrows etc. They now seem to have flared up red in patches and are getting more inflamed. I have only been washing with water and using a really lightweight moisturiser but my skin feels tight and stinging with slight peeling on my eyelid in the last few hours. The bumps have spread down to my neck but not in the same concentration as on my face.

I have not changed my skin routine which alternates differin, dr Sam’s neutralising gel and rest nights (a routine I have followed for months without issue) Whilst I thought I may have damaged my skin barrier although I do not think I was overusing actives I also think this came up to aggressively and quickly.

I don’t know what it is but I work in a customer facing role and I’m therefore extremely self conscious about this. I’m wary of using the anti dandruff shampoos incase it is dermatitis and makes it worse.

I have tried to do a lot of research and although some PD photos look similar I haven’t seen anyone who has had it all over there face to this extent.

Context - I have been staying in my grandmas flat so I have been exposed to mould and unfamiliar detergents but I don’t know if this is just a coincidence as this flared up the next morning.

If anyone has experienced similar or has any guidance I would really appreciate some help!

Reoccurring hive or dermatitis on face

Does anyone know what this is? The doctor prescribed me steroid ointment and I used it for a week and it was gone. They said it was contact dermatitis but was not sure. I stopped using it and 4 days later it returned. I've tried everything at this point from changing my skin care, not wearing makeup. I have another appointment on Saturday but I have no hope the doctor will know what it is.

Is this Periocular Dermatitis, and how to cure? (Red bumps around eyes)

About a month and a half ago I had noticed a few red bumps around my left eye. These bumps seemed to be showing some days then they would fade away. Over the past few weeks, both of my eyes have now got red bumps around them and they have been fading much less and they are now more prevalent than ever.

I've been using a fairly simple skincare routine, and I do use Red light and take a variety of supplements.

I really want to permanently get rid of these bumps. My plan is to detox on my skincare and just do a light cleanse and light moisturiser, and also a detox on my supplements.

Would anyone have any recommendations on what I could do to get rid of this issue?

Any advice is really appreciated!

Is this a wrinkle?

Hi everyone 35 year old Hispanic female. This line suddenly appeared on my forehead. Need help determining what this is. I’ve worn spf, vitamin c, hylauronic acid, retinol since my early 20s. I don’t do Botox but am pretty good at managing my facial expressions. I do have an 18 month old baby, that hits me in the face (he’s gotten better) but that causes me to blink and furrow my eyebrows as a result. Any recommendations on how to reverse this are much appreciated! I’m not above Botox or fillers. Just want to feel like myself again after the baby. It’s hard. Please and thank you!

Anyone have any idea? I was told seb derm by a trichologist but i am planning on getting a second opinion. The reason i second guess her diagnosis is because she seemed more interested in my money and not treating my issue.

Any medicated shampoos i’ve used just cause me to lose more hair and burn my scalp further. I have no flakes or redness when viewed by the naked eye just hair thinning. I’m dealing with a burning scalp and continuous hair loss from the root where i see bulbs at the end. This has been going on for a fee months now.

Freckles on my fingertip?

I’ve had the freckle on the top of this finger for a few years now but the one on the side of my finger is newer within the last 6 months. Should I be worried as I don’t think freckles are supposed to be on my fingertip? They’re both on the same finger. I do have a fair amount of freckles/moles/etc all over my body as well if that matters

Hi guys
I feel so confused. I feel like what I have is LPP spoke to a doctor in India he said it’s LPP a Derm in the UK thought also it’s LPP but I’ve had a biopsy come back and they said it’s skin inflammation?
What do you think this is?
Happened after my 6th Microneedling session
Started off red and very itchy
It’s still itching in the heat, ice helps!
Looks like it’s still spreading
(Last pic was Aug 2025 when it started itching and settled to that colour)
Am I doing something wrong?
My GP prescribed azeliac acid 20% and it’s made no difference so I stopped using
I’m using eucerin Thiamidol night and la Roche cicaplast b5
Day time - just my med grade spf50

Son, 4, has had a bump/lump on his lower leg for at least 1.5 weeks. It does not hurt him to touch. Originally the bump had no discoloration, but has developed the purple center shown here over time. Size has remained approximately the same since we noticed it, with a period over the weekend where it looked a bit smaller. Now it seems the same as it always has.

Saw pediatrician 5 days ago, taking a wait and see approach but she recommended continuing to photograph for a week. Did not feel anything concerning when she pressed on it, and thought it might be a bug bite that just swelled up terribly. I plan to follow up but just looking for outside opinions on what it may be. I can post more progress pictures in comments.

What is this circular bump on my finger

Help what is this 🤮This just appeared on my finger over the last week, it’s not sore but kind of stings when I press down on it. Also seems to be getting bigger. Could hit be contagious? I really don’t think it’s a wart. I thought at the start it could be a burn from oil spitting at me when cooking the dinner. Only any other burn I’ve had Dosnt have a red dot in the middle….

not sure if this has been on my legs before and just noticing but I’ve had molluscum in the past year, and curious if it looks like it spread to my legs? I also do have chicken skin on arms.
