MK3 firmware update 1.5.0 just dropped

I haven’t seen an announcement from Arturia yet (although I’ve only had 4 cups of coffee today so I’m still waking up and may have missed it) but it looks like the Keylab 49/61/88 MK3 controllers have gotten a new FW release:

V 1.5.0
Bug fixes
The sustain pedal has been stabilized to prevent sudden unexpected value drops (from 127 to 0) while playing.
Improved pedal detection range to make it compatible with most pedal after a factory reset.
Playing legato will no longer unexpectedly kill your notes when Chord, Arp, and Hold functions are all activated simultaneously.
Fixed a bug where stuck notes would occur when playing glissando or palm slide.
Fixed a bug where stuck notes would occur when playing while ajusting Strum values in Chord mode.
Fixed a bug where wheels & pedals were unexpectedly hard mapped to CH1 in Arturia mode.

Improvements
Enhanced the UX for the Edit Preset Parts tab.
Refreshed the Keyboard Settings tab with UX improvements.
Button layouts have been refreshed, and new dedicated screens for managing Parts have been added.
Added a Part edition menu.
Rearranged internal menus for more consistency.
Added newest V Collection instrument icons

Trying to decide between keylab mk3 49 or 61.

What is the reason to get a 49? I was planning to get it but then I saw that it’s practically the same size as the 61 and almost the same weight.

The only two real differences are the wheel placement and number of octaves? And price of course.

Does anyone have experience with both that can tell me any other reason to get a 49 instead of a 61? If it’s basically the same size I would choose an extra octave.

I’ve been reading and watching a lot of reviews but I feel like it’s mostly salespeople selling something.

I want a portable keyboard that’s small but still plays well. I also want the analog labs to go in a portable package.

I’m also thinking about getting pigments. Can the astrolab actually handle it?

How are the pianos and rhodes?

I have had Analog V intro for a while now, it sounds good on the presets I like but editing is limited.

I just noticed I can upgrade to the Pro version for £69, Is the upgrade worth it, I like evolving pads and strings and can use my MiniLab MK3 to make minor edits to the macros. Are the macro choices the same as Intro?.

I have also tried the Pigments demo for sound design and that is amazing...I am a bit torn as I am wondering if I should hold out for a discount for Pigments instead of Analog Pro, which doesn't seem massively different to intro ( Intro seems to just have fewer presets )

Any advice?

I have had V Collection X for a couple of years and have heard Pure Lofi and think it would be a good addition for my projects. I use a Yamaha CK61 as my controller as it’s very flexible. But a Keylab 49 mk3 would be a good addition for me with its bonus of Analog Pro. Can anyone tell me if Pure Lofi presets are included in Analog Pro, which would be fine for me. Then maybe get an offer on VC 11 down the line. Or just go for VC 11 and get on with it. Appreciate any insights from your experiences 🤔

Hey all,

Curious what you guys thought of this quick little jam I did on the Astrolab into a Boss Looper.

Too avant garde or sounding cool?

Feel free to share some of your favorite presents!

Cheers

Has anyone tried using a battery with the AstroLab 37? Unfortunately, a normal power bank + Ripcord doesn’t work, because Ripcord devices output a maximum of 1A. On Amazon I’ve seen batteries that can output up to 5A (for example: https://amzn.eu/d/0h3JDeGg). Has anyone tried this before? Does it work?
